so? i've seen a lot of fly brains living in ATRL servers too!

Wow it would be interesting to see what a fly would do on ATRL. How Lorenzian of you !

I do not understand all the aspects of what it involves but I find this kinda sad and impressive at the same time. So basically this virtual fly thinks she exists and that everything in this simulation is real ? This is her universe untill they stop experimenting with the brain.

Imagine a simulation where you can continue living with your loved ones insted of losing them frownheart2

That's actually incredibly fascinating. Terrifying and fascinating.

I don't think flies are aware that they exist

Is this just a code simulation modelled on a fly's brain function? Rather than it's actual brain being transferred to a computer

I think if eternal live exists, it's going to be like this.

I wonder how much storage will be needed to store a human conscience. The average ATRL-user could probably do with a few kB's. But what about the more intricate minds?

but what does she think about the new branch of life discovered?

It's just mimicing the fly's brain, it's not transferring its consciousness to the simulation lol

Exactly. This is not a "real fly" transferred to a computer it's an AI modeled after a real fly and behaving like one.

Doesn't it say right there in the added context that this is basically a predictive behavioural model of a fly's actions in a virtual world and in no way a computer representation of the fly's "consciousness"? I mean, I've never studied spanish for a second in my life but even I can understand this so idk why yall are gaggin' so when in reality it's just another predictive algorithm model or whatever which "they" CONTINUE to sell to as as "intelligence" "consciousness" or whatever else buzzword they will use to drive up hype ...
