What happened to mix gendered groups?

Featured Replies

Despite mixed groups achieving success in the past, is there not a market for them anymore?

I guess they're more of a duo but I have been loving these songs lately, and showed me that when a mixed gender group has great chemistry they can really do great things with it:

There's barely a market for pop groups outside of kpop these days in general, let alone mixed-gender ones which are significantly harder to market.

kpop currently has All Day Project but they are a chopped group so

I feel like it's a sign that we have become too divided and divisive. I fear Gen Z and younger are so divided by gender due to toxic content on the internet. Men screaming how worthless women are and women screaming that all men are gay.

the last time I checked about Kpop. Isn't one of the guys had like issues of saying the N word and constantly cosplaying a black rapper? like most of kpop now anyway

OT: A'Teens

They're just harder to market and need something more unique. Boy groups typically sell based on the boyfriend appeal and then girl groups use girl power and girl friendships

Me thinking this thread was about friend groups. The only recent successful example I can think of is BEP and their mega success was pretty much thanks to Fergie

ABBA was just so monumentally successful that the industry knew they would never be topped and figured its best not to waste investment funds.
