Dont believe the government telling you the world population is 8 Billion. Its definitely much more than than. Just count the undocumented immigrants all over the world and all the people living in secret, in the jungles etc. , we are definitely above 10 Billion or maybe even 15 Billion.

I feel like if anything it's lower than that. It would be more beneficial for a country to lie about being larger than the opposite.

Educational institutions and consulting firms who tackle the question of world population already know how to account for those populations with statistical techniques and widely publicized numbers already reflect that.

+1, unaccounted for populations are taken into account when making these estimates. There's a science to this, it's not just tallying up what each government actually reports.

That's a good thing. Let nature heal (the industrialisation has done so much damage to Earth in the last 300 years and the rapid boom in population was a result of that).

A global conspiracy to what end? There is no incentive for every government in world to collude on over or under estimating the world population. It would also be the first and only time every government has managed to agree on anything - and for that to survive huge political changes all over the world.

The truth is, all global conspiracies are a lie. The world is too complicated and too unmanageable to pull anything off at that level. Corruption exists, and sometimes its wide spread. But I don't believe it is possible for a secret and powerful group of people to be manufacturing the world around us.

There's also no accounts of some deaths that happen every day and some of them are found out some time later, some stay hidden. So if anything, I think it's less than 8 billion.

How can we count them? They're undocumented for a reason But I find it hard to believe that there's 2-7 billion extra people hiding in a jungle somewhere

in general I would say less population would be a good thing... for the environment and for jobs (less competition)

but now we have to deal with the rise of artificial intelligence... so were still screwed...
