I was thinking yes, she had the underdog narrative and a lot going for her after how awful 143 + the whole space fiasco went. People really seemed to be doing a retrospective "maybe we're too hard on the Queen who gave us Teenage Dream" on social media.

… and then bandaids happened. Nothing much has changed between now and then. Wide Awake being somewhat viral isn't going to move the needle.

She's unlikely to make a musical comeback (new hit album) but I do agree that her PR is getting more positive. Katy was at her lowest point during 143 but now her stock has gone up. The tour helps remind people of when they used to love her music. Then the new relationship has done wonders to her image, people are approving of the relationship and she's getting some credibility points (I mean, come on, Justin Trudeau was a former prime minister! And he was hot too!) If she gets married to Justin Trudeau, you should expect her image to get even better, and she could make a comeback and make banks as a celebrity / media personality / TV personality (see Posh Spice)

I'm curious to see where she'll pivot next business wise / musically. She's very much still a viable artist, even despite all the backlash she got. She'll always be easy to poke fun at but that's always been her shtick anyway.

I'd like to see her on TV again tbh. She's funny and goofy and she can always tour every few years. I hope we do get a new album this year. It'll be 2 years since 143
