Lady Gaga .. this is a PROBLEM

Every time this woman lands a hit, she elevates it with an acoustic or rock rendition. That Abracadabra bridge at the Grammys was jonny she makes going back to the original format feel so underwhelming. Like why tease and never release a rock album?

Is she afraid of backlash (Joanne), the Monsters abandoning her (ARTPOP), or the label pressure for her to stay electro-pop (Chromatica)? Feels like more people love see her go rock. But what’s really stopping her?

Past Rock Renditions

Just Dance

Shallow

Poker Face

An industrial rock album produced by only her and Gesaffelstein should be her next move

As much as she thrives in rock settings, that's also a fairly predictable route for her to take and she knows it too I think which is why she's probably putting it off until when everyone least expects it from her. Because if there's anything she is, predictable is not one of them. LG8 seems to be a mix of electro-industrial and synthwave/darkwave based on the hints so far and that's a really exciting direction too.

I agree with you tho that this rendition is f-ing BRILLIANT and breathes new life into an already fantastic song. Guess being too talented is both a blessing and a burden. wanda

(also congrats on being elected the new mod @Devin, well deserved heart)

She needs to be inspired for her next project, then it'll translate into the music.

By who exactly?

I would be here for a genre switch from her...thats not Jazz

I love all those example, but I will say my favorite of them and the one I think is even better then the original is the 'Shallow' rock version. Is soooo good!!! Not only the chorus or the ending but the way she sings the verses, ughh is perfect.

I agree a rock album will be incredible. Some fans may be hesitant cause of chart performance, but who cares, she has nothing left to prove on that realm, just continue going with quality as she has been doing. Hopefully we get it next!

Watch her do Polka for LG8.

I'm putting it here so we'll at least expect it that way she might not consider it. giraffe

We need this performance on streaming. The intro scratches an itch in my brain.

She's a pop artist tho… as much as I'd love a punk or punk rock album from her, she needs to chart coffee2

An industrial rock album produced by only her and Trent Reznor should be her next move

clap
