Adele does not have an iconic performance in that way.

lol this shameless lie

Adele literally exploded thanks to SLY performance at the BRITs.

It was LIVE performance of album track that skyrocketed her career.

I don't even care about Adele and it's without a doubt the most iconic performance of the last 20 years.

The Brits performance is only iconic to British people tbh.

The BRITS performance is the reason she exploded globally.

It made album explode. It became #1 single before it was even released as single. Stop lying because your fave doesn't have iconic performance and Adele has just by standing.

People trying to dismiss the iconography of Mariah Carey is always crazy bc she's ******* MARIAH CAREY?!!!!!! bambambam

You seem to stan her, so obviously you'd have this opinion. giraffe

I'm neutral on Adele, and most people not even knowing about this performance is largely true. Ask the average person on the street anywhere in the world about this alleged iconic performance and even some Brit's will not even know wtf you're talking about. It wasn't exactly Britney and the snake level of known.

I never listened to a single Adele album. How old are you, 10? Because that would be only reason for me to understand your ignorance.

Average person on the street went and bought album that went on to sell 50m copies because of that performance. Average person on the street is more likely to name that performance than britney snake performance that is 'iconic' only among pop forums and gays.

You don't even stan? Girl, at this point you're just arguing to argue. It's not that known, the end. rip

I've never seen this kind of delusion on atrl.

Like imagine saying that performance that boosted an artists and album to become defining and the best selling artist and album of this millennium is unknown rip

I'd be embarrassed if i were you to show my face in this thread.

Feel free to answer me ONLY if you can post performance that did more for an artist and an album than what BRITS performance did for 21 and Adele.

But she does. And she doesn't need an "iconic performance" everything she does is. Some acts are known for doing stuff to get attention. Mariah is an ARTIST. And Adele blew up at a time where there really wasn't any new vocalist so it was more noticed look at her sales.

The average person on the street wouldn't know about Britney's snake performance or most iconic performances in general. rip

More people in the UK would definitely be aware of Adele's Brit performance than that.

Mariah isn't really a performer and most vocalists don't have an iconic performance so it's not a big deal.

British people are more likely to know about it, yes, I said as much, but I don't think it's a big known performance that is referenced and most would automatically know about, is what I'm saying (like the other poster is portraying). It's a good or "noted" performance, but not iconic IMO.

Mariah has never sounded THIS bad. And just because she's passed, doesn't mean she's exempt from the conversation.

That's cute but ask Mariah to sing We belong together climax live and we can compare.

This one always goes viral on twitter about how she had to sing cuz the playback wasn't gonna

She didn't sing live. It was the first time she used that track which started 2 seconds after where the old track used to, to fool people..

She's not a performer, but a vocalist and a legend STILL.

Also now that I think about it her New Years Eve performance was iconic and messy.

Why are you quoting me without posting receipts of live performances that did more for other artists than what BRITs did for Adele? Are you trying to deflect?

A performance doing a lot for a certain artist doesn't mean it's iconic bibliahh who even cares about that performance in 2026? We've moved on babes

So a single performance that turned Adele from local moderately successful artist to global sensation with the best selling album of the millennium is not iconic, but performances that are only remembered among delusional fan bases are, ok bibliahh

I mean if your fave is artist from your avatar you should sit this down sis. You don't know much about iconic performances., but you do know a lot about infamous ones.

I just asked mu global flatmate and he said it's the only performance he can name.

When that performance actually makes you go listen to the album like you claim it did for "the average person on the street", maybe we can start calling it iconic. bird
