Its baffling to me because to me :

the music is corny 75% of the time but HITS 25% of the time

her music videos are stellar 100% of the time

her photoshoots/album shoots are corny 100% of the time , they always look like a BTEC photography student's end-of-year submission

love her but she's definitely a mixed bag when it comes to her overall output

Because that's just who she is. She radiates joy and positivity, and wants to share that with others. It's time to embrace the corniness; there's nothing to gain from pretentiousness or being a try-hard.

Writing about rape and sexual assault, body dysmorphia and hostile work environments makes her corny now? If anything this title is encouraging, she's gone through a lot of **** and for once is in a good place.

The girl was stuck on a record label for 6+ years that never allowed to release an album and was relegated to being a secondary song writer, she broke free, released an album about it, got a number 1 single and multiple Brit awards, then released the lead for her second album that also went number 1, purely because she grinded for it as an independent artist…

Like, if there's one artist I'll forgive for being 'corny' and overly happy/hopeful, it's RAYE cos she really went through sh*t to get there

she's very talented... but she clearly doesn't have the "polish" some of the label-backed artists have. this doesn't sound like an album title / cover concept that came out of a meeting with label execs, it's straight out of her notes app

Being authentic will never be truly corny and that's why she's successful as an independent artist and actual corny artists like Katy (no shade, no shade.) with huge label machines behind them are flopping

On the topic of Charli, it's actually Brat's authenticity that I think really clicked with people

She is getting some slight backlash now because the Brat-persona is starting to feel more like a persona/act than the sad party girl it was when it first came out
