i was born with a lisp because according to my mother when i was curled up in the womb i would suck my own PP and it messed with the development of my mouth , so i had to go to speech therapy for years as a kid and i pronounce my t's properly now which im really glad about because people often think im posher than i am

That is an Estuary Accent ( named after the Thames estuary so covering much of London and the SEast of England). It's called a glottal stop "wah'er, boh'ul etc" it's increasingly prevalent.

Still is it any worse than making up an imaginary "d" in "warder"?

Im from the US so I don't care about class but I know in England because of their class system, your accent is how they can tell what class group you belong to. We don't really have that here in America. People here pretty much speak the same. The accents just change by regions (south, north etc)
