Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland to plot break-up of United Kingdom
Yes this is a great unspoken truth. Just about every politician in the Republic wants reunification- sincerely- but many also recognise the massive upheaval it would be, and it would probably totally dominate the careers of all politicians involved for a generation, at least. Financially the U.K. spends about £20bn subsidising 2 million people in N Ireland, which is a pain for a country of 70million but an absolute mega burden for one of six million or so in the case of ROI, even if it is a rich country these days. And that's before you get to the politics of dealing with about a million new citizens from the northern Unionist community, who are likely to be somewhere on a spectrum of accepting, through neutral through downright dislike to possible violence as a reaction to their new situation. At the very least both the U.K. and ROI would have to do a lot of preparation economically and constitutionally in advance of any vote ( like is the new state a unitary one, or federated, would U.K. citizenship continue to be given to those from the North, and for how long, and who is paying for what? Etc etc) in order to make sure it all stuck ok without unforeseen and uncontrollable consequences. At the least the politics of the new unified state would look pretty different to the current ROI just by dint of lots of new voters. I think it will happen, in due course, but it's not simple at all if you really want the best for all involved.

Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland to plot break-up of United Kingdom
Well it already kind of is!l. All except England have their own Assemblies/Parliaments which pass laws on various things ( and to differing extents - powers are not equal between say Scotland and Wales) like education, transport, culture, justice, and certain taxes. England is so much bigger than the other three on its own ( 59m people v about 11m for the other three combined) that an English only Parliament which would balance out the democratic deficit (ie Welsh voters can vote on English education in London but not vice versa in Cardiff) would end up totally lopsiding the current system.

Dua Lipa to release new album in early 2027
She's curating the London literary festival in October. Why release a single then????

Dua Lipa to release new album in early 2027
This makes sense. As pointed out already, she's busy doing other things in October.

Has Dua Lipa reached her ceiling?
She's by far (and it's not even close) the most interesting MPG out there. Actually has a life outside of work and a hinterland. If you can't see that, well it's your loss.

Iceland rejects EU membership in referendum
Oh come on, whatever the pros and cons fish is very very important for Iceland. It's a huge industry there. They, rightly, are going to view its future as an important factor in any EU relationship.

Iceland rejects EU membership in referendum
A "concentric circles" EU or if you like "Europe à la carte" was always a more sensible idea than the all or nothing nature of the EU as currently constituted. Those that wish to integrate further and faster (Germany,France(?), Belgium, Italy, Spain. Portugal, the Baltics etc ?) could and those that want a slower pace (Denmark. Sweden, Netherlands, etc) could be accommodated. Would have kept the UK in the fold too somewhere. As it is you've got the intregrationists frustrated by the slow pace, as they see it, and others constantly worried it's going too far too fast.

Dua Lipa
Well, plausible for sure but I'm still not convinced. I believe Callum is doing a couple of films in the US over the next few months which is why, I believe, they are effectively living for that time in the US (lots of photo dumps from New York recently). Now that doesn't stop her hopping around the planet of course for forays and you could argue it's great for a US launch of course but I just can't feel it in my bones that she wouldn't be back in London to do the start of DL4.

🇨🇦 Canadian Politics 🇨🇦
Ok enough of being polite. The English is so appalling it doesn't make sense. And just for clarity I'm a native speaker. I think ( stress think, because it's hard to work out), you were dissing Canada?

Dua Lipa covers September issue of Vogue Italia
Let's hope not. Because these days you get about two weeks and then it's wall to wall reindeers and Christmas songs😱

Dua Lipa covers September issue of Vogue Italia
She is curating the London literary festival which runs second half of October into the start of November , so I don't see how that works to be honest.

I just wrote a reply in the thread about "is she an MPG?" to say "yes but her life is diversifying" and this turns up 20 mins later 😁 💅.

ATRL Decides: is Dua really a MPG?
Of course she is. "Pandemic fad" is a particularly nuts take on here given DL1 from 2017 has insane billions of streams ( 13bn/14bn? Can't be bothered to look it up but it's huge). Even DL 3 will have two billion steamers within a few weeks too and her last tour grossed about $200 million. That said, she's so diversified these days given her huge partnership/modelling contracts and her seriousness with the literary interviews and book club ( note to anyone expecting DL 4 soon she's actually curating the London literary festival, (all rather high brow) at the end of October/start of November so how's that going to work with a DL4 launch? - spoiler: it doesn't), that you can't help feeling she's pretty close to morphing into a brand/thing of her own making (lifestyle aspirations?) beyond singing because she is blessed with lots of abilities and opportunities. And of course now she's married, so there's Callum's life and work to be taken into account too. All of which means she has the ability, if she so desires, to step off the album/tour/studio/album/tour/studio grind because she's doesn't need the money, and I suspect she's intellectually curious about life. Edit: and within minutes of writing this she pops up on the cover of the latest edition of Vogue Italia…. …. Just sayin'.

FIFA private equity controversy
Latest update: Infantino had a meeting in Morocco with some FIFA officials present, issued a statement essentially saying was sorry about the part sell off issues. UEFA responded today with their own statement saying this didn't address their issues enough, boycott of FIFA events still stands, and they reiterated no confidence in Infantino. Essentially looking like Infantino walks away or UEFA does. Don't think he can survive in his job, personally. Bigger question is what will UEFA demand by the way of reformed governance going forwards?
