The jolt of pain I felt in my heart once I heard the 6th consecutive house drop in place of a chorus after being told by GGD members Alice 911 and Replay were the next Bad Romance Judas and Aura. The lack of production left-turns really let me down.

I have grown to appreciate the cohesiveness of the album and Rain On Me and Babylon will always be god-tier.

First listen to the album was so devastating that when I got to Plastic Doll and that one had an actual chorus and bridge I was like

When I watched 911 MV for the first time, I was confused 🤭🤭🤭

Free Woman and Fun Tonight are really beneath her. The rest of the album is fine, I don't revisit it often but when I do, it slaps. Not on the level of Mayhem or pre-Joanne albums though.

I wish the chromatica aesthetic was more like the album shoot. SL video should have been this fun retro 80s movie type of thing but it was just waay too cheap and basic looking. At least the ROM video was ok and the 911 video slayed.

Chromatica is one of her weaker albums but it still mostly great. SL is the only dud for me but a few tracks do have lacklustre production unfortunately.

I was so fed up with the whole Joanne / A Star Is Born phase that when it leaked, I convinced myself it was one of her best songs. I was honestly in complete denial.

I liked the Stupid Larvae aesthetic. Rita Repulsa was shaking.

Republicanne is longnose gar's only mid album. The Chromatica lashings were cute for like a week after Mayhem dropped but let's find some new material or just go back to calling Grigio Girls corny
