Maybe it doesn't help that to get her point across she went with the shadiest phrasing possible. "I am a composer, I perform live, I create my music, I am a producer, I shower everyday, I cook for myself, I know algebra, I can do laundry... Madonna is very different to me, of course. Her and I do... different things"

Like come on girl we get you...

Sure she didn't word it well but the point still stands. Take away the performance, the outfits and the controversy and she can sit comfortably at a piano and stun an audience with her voice and music skills. Take away all that from a certain person's legacy and what exactly will they do

They will stun the audience too, just for different reasons

That being said I agree it was unfortunate how she worded it. She lashed Madonna a lot more gracefully in 5F2.

The thing is you can tell a lot of Gaga's trauma about her aunt comes directly from her dad being weirdly imposing, like he was the one who got upset and had to leave the room and her granny dgaf.

Experiencing this mega collapse of a performance at Coachella weekend 1 for the first time in history is truly one of the best experiences I've ever had so far. I remember waking up the next morning, smoking the rest of my joint from the night before, processing the fact that I'd just witnessed history being made. Not only did Grandma not gaf about the song in 5f2, but she taught me the word maudlin and used it in exactly the right context during that scene (If you describe someone as maudlin, you mean that they are being sad and sentimental in a foolish way) - it actually really helped me in my own life. Thank god for grandma's who dont beat around the bush.

As someone who stans Madonna just as much as Gaga and who has already listened to Confessions II more than Mayhem - Madonna deserved whatever shade Gaga threw at her. M was cruel AF and that Born This Way/Express Yourself/She's Not Me mashup on the MDNA tour was absolutely embarrassing (for Madonna).

Honestly the entire ordeal is still sad. Like... there's almost like a child-like naivité about Gaga presenting the song to her grandma, as if she's like trying to say "Look Grandma, I'm trying to fix dad!" while her grandma has accepted that her son really can't be fixed, because only he can fix himself and he refuses to do the work.

And Gaga kind of did listen to her grandmother and let the hurt go, I don't think she has even uttered the name Joanne after the era ended (unless she specifically talked about the album or the era).
