The big difference is payola didn't always translate into sales even in the digital age. At least with playlisting and now shuffle on streaming, they can cause more accidental or recommend plays which can contribute to sales figures. But to be fair, like I said before, monoculture is dead so now there will be songs we don't know about or hear about that chart and so well.

Afaik there's always been "bad" music, just streaming made it more accessible and allowed people to self release music more. Monoculture is dead now so we all split off, what you might listen to and find bad I may not even ever hear those songs. For example I've not heard a single song in the top 10 on the Hot 100. Not even once.

As a fan since 2008 I've had enough of the whole dark pop with vocal staccato hooks, Abra was a cute reference to it but I prefer evolution. I'm closer to her age now (as is like 90% of her fanbase) so I want more experimentation and sophistication. I've moved beyond the whole chart thing tbh, only young people care about charts still because they like artists who have no legacy yet. And I don't want her to appeal to the 20 year olds who have joined the fanbase now and want her to recreate her peak just because they were too young to live in it. Gaga has the hits, the records, the impact and now I want her vision of the future; not a recollection of the past. Give me experimental jazz, give me experimental electronica, combine create and twist your art.

She's literally the human equivalent of a Twitter algorithm nnnn. I've seen some of her stuff and beyond the 100 guys thing her content is boring as hell literally just regular straight content— the 100 guy content was fairly fast and boring too (and also you never see the 100 guys so she has no proof it was real). Makes out with guy, blows him, does missionary, does doggy (sometimes an*l), rides him, does some other variation and ends with them finishing on or in her. It might not have been public but they absolutely will have paid her to use it bc that's not how copyright law works (I work with copyright law quite religiously in my marketing job). Covers are protected yes, but once they are used for profit then you need permission to do it. Even if it opened up a can of worms, the entire lyrical content, the production and other elements aren't even remotely close to Express Yourself beyond the four chord chorus being the same. The rest of the song beyond one stylistic drum stem that's only there because it was massive in the 80s anyway — isn't remotely similar. You categorically cannot sue someone for a chorus chord progression especially when the melody isn't the same (key for example makes a massive change) — the only way you could is like Marvin Gaye suing Ed Sheeran because he took the exact same melody and not just a chord progression. You can sue for misuse of sampling and directly copying but a 5% similarity (whether either sides fans like to think so or not is entirely irrelevant honestly) would not hold up in court.

It interpolated a four chord chorus and that was literally it. So no, I mean it had Madonna performing a mashup for a full year on tour that she would've had to give Gaga money for and Gaga hasn't gave her the time of day since so alls well that ends well.

Genuinely the only good scene she's ever been in was the trench crossing scene in WW. And that's because she wasn't talking — the score does most do the heavy lifting. Her acting is abysmal.

Chromatica is a victim of circumstance sadly (COVID), Bobby revealed a few years after in an interview that Interscope invested the same amount of money into Chromatica as her "comeback" to dance music as they did for Born This Way but it all just fell apart. I think you can still slightly define it the way you used to with a few modern caveats, like an album artist will still have fairly good pure sales for their albums and a singles artist won't. Also albums artists can sell/stream albums without loads of variants, reissues or versions on their Spotify/Apple Music

To be fair that's why they're making the series anyway. The Cursed Child stage play didn't — and still doesn't actually do —particularly well. The movies are in streaming but don't get much repeat viewing anymore like they used to, then in the UK the reruns happen multiple times a year but viewing figures of live tv are low. All video game adaptations of it outside of Hogwarts Legacy have failed miserably, but even then Hogwarts Legacy has only sold as many copies as the average successful game. And finally the principle cast have moved away from association to Rowling except Tom Felton and now Rupert, plus print media is dying so the book royalties will be drying up and amongst young people she's more know as a transphobe than an author now. Only millennials are really supporting the property now — miserable millennials at that I might add.

I never got the love for Harry Potter even as a kid tbh, I was always more of a Star Wars child. The books were poorly written, especially the final 2 books and they were the longest ones. The acting in the movies from the main trio was abysmal and only the legacy theatre and movie actors like Alan Rickman and Maggie Smith were actually good actors. Plus JK's love of embellishing lore about characters like making Dumbledore gay, when there's barely any hints of it in the original novels bar maybe a line — and absolutely no hints at all in the movies. They even danced around him being gay in Fantastic Beasts. And her weirdly racist and stereotypical nature of characters like the Goblins being a clear allegory for Jewish people or the only Asian character being named after two generic Asian surnames combined. Plus the IRA implications with making the only Irish character blow things up constantly. And now she's openly admitted she will continue to use her fortune to fight against trans rights, people really are just showing how immoral they really are tbh. Beyond the trans thing her demented millennial fans tried to stop infrastructure being built over a fictional grave of Dobby, requiring the company to damage Bronze Age remains in the process instead — literally damaging history for a fictional slave. Also the fact that the Malfoy's are clearly meant to be Nazis, as is Voldemort.

To be fair Shakira isn't listed and she's in Beautiful Liar. So unless she re-recorded it as a solo song— there's still a chance for Gaga to be on here uncredited. Maybe they'll update the track lists with features later like how the Mayhem track lists were blurred on websites.
