Messy was one of the best songs this year but the follow ups were not very good . she needs better songs for her next era. 

We don't even know how she's doing rn health wise 

I have a feeling super stardom just isn't for her. I feel this overnight succes she had with messy took a toll on her and it's overwhelming.

I think she will be fine. That said, I also think she's the type that shouldn't be super famous - it will kill her.

Fame isn't for everyone, and with her anxiety and everything - depending on how she does in this break she may be better as a small, local artist.

 

If she was built for it, she wouldve established herself as a household name after Messy, but it seems that she couldn't/didn't want to capture the lightning in the bottle. Though if she comes out with another banger, who knows… I feel nowadays there's more emphasis on the songs than on the artists anyway

I'm sure she's more concerned about her health than anything else.

 

But yes, this happens to every random white pop girl that blows up. They get one hit then vanish a la' Daya.

"This Wasn't Meant For You Anyway" is a banger of an album. "I'm Only ******* Myself" is has some gems but overall isn't as strong/catchy. She's not really the type of artist that's expected to get hits. She'll probably never return the heights of "Messy" but that's fine. 

I think it's pretty clear she needs a break for her health  she can make more music at her own pace

Weird thread when she stepped back to take care of herself (which should be encouraged, we've seen what can happen when artists don't do that).  She might not be bagging huge hits forever but she's super talented and absolutely has a path forward.

she's an alternative artist. it's fine if she flops or doesn't do what people want.

Are you deluded? One Thing was just as good as Messy even if it wasn't as big of a hit. She has it in her. She will prioritize her health and come back swinging. Mind you she's Gen Z, they take time to become household names. She'll be fine.
