Y'all say the same thing everytime   She isn't done for good, but also if she continues to release mid/bad songs then maybe she is. 

Anything is possible honestly. No one would've predicted the success of songs like flowers by Miley, believe by Cher or on a smaller scale padam by Kylie either. All it takes nowadays is a snippet of a song to go viral on tiktok, and people don't even necessarily need to be aware of the fact that it's from a Katy Perry song 

She's on a sold-out arena tour and her fanbase is enjoying her new music. Looks like things are going pretty well for her, actually.

Yes, she's proved time and again she's not capable of making the "right" song so it's a moot point. If anyone seriously thinks Katy can release a Hung Up, Believe, We Belong Together, What's Love Got To Do With It then idk what to say to them...

Yes, she's over 40 now. It's hard for women that age to have hits. But she did have a good run from 2008 to about 2017. There are many acts that fall off before 5 years.

100% finished. We cannot forget that Katy is now over 40 and she's not a Madonna or Cher type figure who people find provocative or interesting enough to still care about once they pass the typical pop star age-out.

Yes and its not because she's 40.

ATRL is such an alternative reality sometimes because wdym is Katy done? She's been done commercially this entire decade

 

NRO was her last hurrah and even that wasn't huge or anything. But she debuted in 2008, this is a completely normal trajectory for a pop career. She's even managed to outlast most late 2000s girls

Her tour is doing good, the song got acclaim by fan and non-fan as "the old Katy is back". Spotify isn't everything. 

She's been done. People use her hits from the recession and that's it. If we didn't have social media, which allows people to stay visible regardless of the success they have, we wouldn't be hearing about her. I'm sure she'll never go away, as even her reach/fame has value; such as American Idol type things. 

 

But no large number of people care for what she puts out. It doesn't help that what she puts out is crap. I can't remember the last time she released something and I was like "yeah, I'll listen to this again". It's like she lost her ear for a decent melody. 

She's still good for a throwback. The 2000s Cyndi Lauper

Wasn't Doechii her last collab and she was hot off a Grammy win and Anxiety being popular ?

This - usually a collab with another popstar like Arina or a MPB like Bruno does miracle

I think she needs a great song. Bandaids is good, and most importantly it's not bad, which couldn't be said for most of her recent output. But it's not great. This is the woman who has given us some of the greatest modern pop songs of all time on her first 3 albums. She didn't get those hits because of payola or a massive fanbase. She got them because they were perfect, bulletproof, 10/10 pop songs. Why she keeps releasing "okay" singles when she has access to great songwriters is beyond me. 
 

I don't know if she/her team thinks that bandaids or Woman's World are actually on par with Hot N Cold, Firework, Teenage Dream, Dark Horse, etc or if they just don't care to reach those heights again, but everyone is only holding her to the standard she set herself. I'm still rooting for her but if she wants success she's got to get the right material.
