  • Last time I checked haters were calling Dua the fad of 2020 & Doja the female artist of the decade, or something. What happened?    Let me tell you. Time, the ultimate truthteller.

  • I mean, 90% of Doja songs sound like this...    https://www.instagram.com/reel/DP6aK6CDc12/

  • Doja deserves to flop

Ok, its official, Vie isn't just a flop, it's a bomb. :rip:

The music isn't bad, this fall off should be studied.

this meaningless comparison when both of them are still going on actual world tours at the end of the day. Vie only had one radio single btw :heart2:

Last time I checked Dua was in the Gen Z holy trinity along with Billie & Olivia and now she's being compared to a Doja who hasn't had a hit album since 2021?

I'm surprised nothing has gained any traction on tiktok to give it a bit of life. That Doja album has been fully rejected damn.

Not to pull the promo card, but it really should be emphasized how little Doja's album received :rip: The lead single was only 1 month before the album drop, and basically all the promo for either of them was just tweets teasing the fact she had an album coming eventually

There's like 2 listenable songs on Vie and it was DOA, meanwhile Radical Optimism is aging like a fine wine :gayalipacat5:

Doja's voice is shot from vaping or something. She sounds much worse than she did on Hot Pink and Planet Her. Her hollow gravely monotone voice moaning over a beat is not it

Well RO isn't really a 'bad' album but they heavily misrepresented the direction it was going for with its first two singles. Houdini and Training Season are among Dua's top 10 best songs then we got something less 'edgy' most of the damn album.

But then I came to terms with it and it really is a solid pop album if you just forget that they released Houdini and TS as its first two singles.

Well but dua is a streaming giant coming from her imperial era and RO even if not as succesful had several singles with heavy playlisting didnt it?

Doja is good but scarlet was already a commercial backstep from Planet Her. Of course Vie was going to flop, she had it coming because of her attitude.

01. Dua isn't exactly a Gen Z artist

02. Dua, Billie and Olivia still the "new" biggest female artists of the late 10s/early 20s (neither Sabrina or Tate has surpassed Dua's total success since DL1 to RO)

03. Doja in 2021 was outselling Billie with her sophomore studio, that is happening to Dua now with Sabrina's and Tate's peak... we don't know about DL4.

Olivia

this huge sneak, at this point the holy trinity of the 2020s is Billie, Dua and Sabrina/Doja not a one year fad :biblionana: Olivia is in the same bag as Chappell, Tate and Charli.

RO has been doing 2-3M for almost a year lmao which is okay for an album whose promo ended after a week of release lmao. If she had milked the era like she normally does (more singles and a deluxe version), at least it'd be pulling numbers similar to the "successful" BRAT. :giraffe:

I agree that it's not even that bad musically in a vacuum but that's the thing it doesn't exist in a vacuum so the synth 80s pop turn after calling all your pop albums cash grabs and being a rap edgelord for years with no comment on the switch back it's idk maybe jarring for the GP

I believe she gained rap fans during scarlet despite everything but then she switched back to 80s pop, she doesn't do herself favors in the least developing a fanbase. And her pop fans are probably wondering if this is a cash grab like she called her other ones or more likely they checked out. We're also in the authenticity era so the switch ups with no reflection can feel insincere

I do see doja as a creative artist but if she wants more big commercial success she needs a less confusing musical output as well as her antics. But does she even want commercial success since in scarlet she rapped about going off on an island away from people as being ideal? :michael: all I know about doja for sure is she is a troll at heart
