Do you miss Brittany Murphy?

Featured Replies

I was a child when Brittany Murphy passed away and honestly, I bawled my eyes out at the time I found out about her death. She was my favorite actress growing up, and she is still one of my favorites today.

It's wild to see how many people still remember her today. I keep seeing so many viral Tiktoks of her lately, some with over 2-3 million likes. It just reminds me how much of an impact she had with people in general.

She had so many memorable performances: Clueless, 8 Mile, Uptown Girls, Sin City, Girl, Interrupted, Sin City, Just Married (I didn't realize how much of a smash hit this was at the box office until recently), Don't Say a Word, and more. She was an A-list celebrity in the 2000s but unfortunately, the media tore her down just as quickly as they brought her up like they do with so many female actresses in history.

I also can't help but think how different her life and career could have been if she had never crossed paths with the ugly, nasty, and abusive con artist named Simon Monjack.

Do you miss Brittany Murphy? Was she a true 2000s icon?

i do. she was a sweet girl :( I love The Ramen Girl

Such an underrated movie! Brittany was the type of actress who could literally pull you in no matter what role she played.

Faster Kill Pussycat should have smashed in the U.S. The fact that she has a Top 10 UK hit casually to her name >>>

She was so beautiful and classy.

Her death was sooo eerie I can't get over it

Yes. She was so good in Girl, Interrupted, as well as Sin City. And Just Married is a guilty pleasure.

Can you imagine the absolute slay it would've been if we got a Dark Knight sequel with her as Harley and Heath coming back as Joker? :jonny5: We were so robbed as a society.

Cherry Falls is a fantastic slasher

Yesss it was and so underrated! I read once that it was originally supposed to get a theatrical release but they ended up sending it to TV at the last minute.

I feel like it would have smashed in theaters. It was a slasher with a unique concept. Also, Brittany did what she had to do in it.

This is one of those celebrity deaths that doesn't feel real even though she's been gone for almost 20 years. Her death was so shocking to me. I remember watching a red carpet interview on E! just days before she passed away.

Agreed. It still doesn't feel 100% real even after all these years. I've watched documentaries and YT videos about her case recently and it shocks me how horrible the media was to her before her death. Especially Perez Hilton and Howard Stern. :mazen:

i still remember when she died it was all over the news. the entire case just seemed so eerie.

oh and she should've been nominated for an Oscar for Girl, Interrupted. SAINT would've still won but her portrayal of Daisy was perfection

I agree with this. She had such a vulnerability to her that was unmatched. Makes her death even sadder.

Yes, she should have been nominated for an Oscar for Girl, Interrupted easily. SAINT loved her too and knew the talent she was!

i agree that it still, even after 20 years, feels kinda … incomprehensible that she died ? she was so great in everything she was in, and King of the Hill is one of my favorite TV shows and i don't even wanna watch the reboot bc she's not around to voice Luann

Clueless, Riding in Cars with Boys, Sin City, Girl Interrupted, Cherry Falls, Uptown Girls … all movies from my youth that were made better by her presence

I miss her so much and can't believe she would be almost 50 if she was still here. Time isn't real

She was always a joy when she was interviewed. I like to watch the video of her singing 'somebody to love' in the studio for Happy Feet. :chick3:
