Will TLOAS be able to outdo HMHAS?

Featured Replies

HMHAS is yet to catch up with the units Taylor pulled off with TTPD, but things are different now: TLOAS will have only 12 tracks (19 less than TTPD) and Billboard has now more strict rules regarding variants (TTPD had like 27 or something :rip:). Will Taylor be able to prove herself, or is she in need of those shady tactics that inflate her numbers? Will Billie be crowned as the defining artist artist of the 2020s, if Taylor fails to outdo her latest album? I think this era will be very telling and I am curious to see if ATRL is anticipating it with the same curiosity as mine.

  • What a stupid rage bait post lmaoooo  Mind you the first 12 tracks of TTPD amassed 183 million streams in its first day. That is over double the amount HMHAS did (73 million )

  • For future reference, the first four tracks of HMHAS have the following streams, 456 days after release: Skinny: 304M Lunch: 850M Chihiro: 932M Birds of a Feather: 2.9B This

This discussion is focused on the overall and everlasting performance of the albums mentioned, not quick first week sales, but thank you for sharing your (limited) perspective

Taylor's streaming will remain strong no matter the number of tracks and the vast majority of TTPD's sales are unaffected by the rules changes. Even if you believe that "shady tactics" are the source of more than a small minority of her consumption (they're not lmao, sorry), physical variants in particular are largely untouched by the new rules.

Even if TLOAS bombs to hell, still no. Her other albums and the Eras Tour still exist. :rip:

this album is going to be her most successful yet, i think. since people will have less tracks to focus on.

so yes it's pretty much a given that she will outdo billie!

I swear TLOAS will definitely reach #1 on billboard 200. Not everyone can do that.

I know it is a hard concept for your cult to grasp, since no song from TTPD reached 1B streams yet, but art is meant to be experienced outside of its first week as well. HMHAS did not need to debut at #1 to become a classic. Will Taylor be able to achieve the same with TLOAS? That is the question.

I'm pretty sure HMHAS will struggle to see TLOAS first week :sabrina:

TTPD only has 5 variants and HMAS has 10 variants. So you question should be if HMAS pull the same number today not LOAS cause Taylor will not be affected by the rule lol

The Tortured Poets Department was available in 19 physical variants—nine CD, six vinyl, and four cassette variants, with deluxe CDs and cassettes being exclusive to Swift's official website. Physical copies of the album included an original poem by the American singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks.

Well, Taylor has 11 albums and 10 of them moved more units than HMHAS. I would say yes.

Which units exactly? It still only sells half of TTPD's units in the US and 4 millions behind TTPD globally according to CM. The way half of you post are fake information and you calling another people "cult" :sabrina:

This is not the variants the new rule about :rip:

Only four (4) "digital D2C exclusive versions" will be allowed for the life of an album. Includes deluxe versions.

Nothing you post here are digital versions, also this article count the music in different formats as "variants". Based on that every artist has three variants at least cause everybody is selling vinyls, CD and cassette. TTPD has 4 album covers in different formats and a target exclusive one, that's all

Then why the smash/classic that is hmhas has yet to catch up to ttpd either on streaming or pure sales? Mind you we're talking 11th album vs 3rd, and physical/digital era artist vs streaming era artist. And there's currently a mere 600k daily streams gap.

As per Chartmasters (cited above by someone from your cult), this is not the truth. HMHAS already reached a total of 10.4M units based on streaming alone; TTPD pales in comparison with 10.1M, despite an earlier release and 21 extra tracks. Do you think TLOAS will even be able to compete, having 19 tracks less than TTPD? Please elaborate.

Key word "currently" cause before Taylor's comeback the daily gap was like 5m. Everybody streamed TTPD these last days. I streamed like 50 times.

Not you having me blocked and still opening my posts to downvote me. A clock wont unclock with a mere downvote, sis. TTPD is yet to have a track over the billion streams mark.

"With the unforeseen release of yet another version of HMHAS, this time with isolated vocals as a bonus, Eilish seems to be in for a fight to challenge Swift's potential reign at the top for a fifth consecutive week, totaling a whopping 23 versions available for purchase. An amount that surprisingly makes even Swift's (who's usually deemed to be a collectors dream everytime she drops a new project) album versions pale in comparison. TTPD specifically debuted with 4 versions/formats/styles for reference"

Thank you so much ATRL user @Loca for reminding us the week that HMHAS released 23 versions and still only managed to debut at #2, what a week! Good fight though
