I mean this makes sense, but don't make the mistake of thinking this applies to the stan community only. The way straight people worship football and basketball stars is very similar, even down to the numbers obsession, which manifests itself as charts obsession in the stan world but as sports stats to sports fans. 

Seems accurate.

 

The extremes people go on here either worshipping or hating a celebrity... Very scary. I also can't believe we are in 2025 and people in this forum continue to pit women against each other. Some users here are so obsessed with charts they don't even enjoy the music. Their entire personalities are defined by a Metacritic score.

Growing up going to professional NFL football games, older straight men are definitely a lot more catty with the way they bicker about their favorite athletes. Stan culture has nothing on them.
