What a timeless moment, it has stood the test of time, it's just an universal reaction at this point. That's history. :clap3:

  • i'm obsessed with this moment because you can tell that she received the agenda the day before, went home, thought about it, came up with that line and couldn't wait to drop it because she thought eve

She really thought she ate, but then everyone ate her alive instead. :bibliahh:10 years though… I need to get off the internet. I remember this like it was just a few years ago.

The way she couldn't even finish the 'in LA they always...' sentence because she would have dug herself even deeper :deadbanana2:

Is it just me or you also can't find this gif in instagram comments? :rip:

I bet she was gonna say "In LA they (latinas) always clean our toilets"

:ahh:

It still blows my mind that this moment still lives in infamy. 😆  HOWEVER I have stuck up for her over the years as "devils advocate" giving her the benefit of the doubt because for a good handful of years leading up to this, that WAS the narrative about deportation from pro immigrant advocates.  It was prertty much, "You cant deport the Mexicans!  Who will do all the shitty jobs!?"

A movie was even made by Latinos called "A Day Without a Mexican" where again, that was the narrative.

Out of all the times celebs have put their foot in their mouths though (we all have!) I still can't figure out why this one stuck so hard.  Justin Bieber is on video saying the n word over and over.  He completely got a free pass. Yet Kelly will have a headstone that says, "Here lies Kelly Osbourne, in the sense that...."

This moment aside, I've always side eyed this panel of women talking about serious topics….like are they really the experts in anything other than entertainment topics? And do we really wanna take their opinions seriously?

the thing is… it's so clear to see what she was trying to say:

Rich people like Trump want to deport undocumented citizens but at the same they hire and under pay them to do chores around their houses that they don't want to do. :dies: She had a point she just delivered it so awkwardly sjjsdsjjd the sudden look of panic when she realizes the girls weren't gagged :ahh:

  • 4 months later...

iconic, but i do get what she was saying

undocumented/ illegal immigrants make up a significant portion of domestic services. Trump and all these billionaire right wingers depend on a lot of these hard working people and don't even realize it
