on second thought, if him and Addison are "dating" i would think the Grammys would love to have a couple both competing in the BNA category … which could all but assure her nomination YAYAYAYA I LOVE SOMBRERO !!!!

I dont think Addison is happening. Her debut did not become the breakthrough people expected… and to get nominated for Best New Artist as a pop girl you need to put up the sales.

Man's got bops, stop being haters! He's 4/4 with singles so I'll definitely be checking his album out when it drops

Even if he drops his debut album before the deadline, he is absolutely not going to be able to get nominated over giants like Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber etc. in the Pop Album category.

I think his best shot at a Grammy nom is Best New Artist and nothing else, which would still be great for him tbh. He deserves it for the breakout he had.

he might gets nominations in the Rock or Alternative categories.

Doubt he is eligible there. + Alternative/Rock is very strong this year with releases by Bon Iver, Wet Leg, Turnstile, Deftones, Wolf Alice etc.

He could maybe (by a huge stretch) get a SOTY nomination for back to friends due to the alphabetical advantage on the ballot. But a BNA nomination would be a win for him in itself. Dont think his songs will happen this time.

that's ….. literally not true whatsoever cuz Sommelier or what the f*ck ever certainly doesn't have the "sales" :toofunny3: he has streams and some weird niche internet support. at the end of the day it's about who the industry is rallying behind , as it relates to prestigious accolades like the Grammys and Addison was on multiple year end lists for Diet Pepsi alone … and that came from her *critically acclaimed* album btw ….. oh and Katy tanked

VERY much looking forward to this. His last several singles have been fantastic. And he seems like a really cool, down to earth guy to match.

who is this boy, is his music worth listening to?

Yes. His recent 4 singles especially are quite good. He's very young, just turned 20, and his first songs dropped when he was about 15. They are not as polished as his new material. But his run that began last year has shown him really coming into his own and creating a definitive vibe and style for himself.

You guys are so out of touch it's like bizarro world on here sometimes.

I'll give him a shot. thank you

don't worry. we're shooting for an album of the year nomination :clap3: gonna shook up the expectations

I mean back to friends and undressed are amazing songs, but people have got to listen to 12 to 12. Just a brilliant track.

I do like Alex Warren but I'd prefer sombr winning BNA, and maybe getting some noms on the pop field (and general field). back to friends may have a shot if it keeps getting bigger.

At this point I hope he doesn't get Djo'd where he got one great big song but wasn't able to build up moment um from it. Djo's music is so good he deserved a nom.

All of his songs so far have been major bops, smart of him to also push an album soon instead of waiting too long.

He def deserves to at least be nominated, if not win.

Nice!  Glad he's striking while the iron is hot, he's poised right on the tipping point of having a breakout.

And his music is excellent.  Some of y'all on this site just hate anyone with a dick.  If any up and coming pop girl released music like this, y'all would be stanning.

He deserves a BNA nom for sure.

The way that ATRL and Twitter stans hate on anybody who's a guy is weird... if you all listened to his past 4 singles you would know that he deserves the hype. This is actual good music

"back to friends" has peaked atop for five consecutive weeks at Alternative Airplay on Billboard's chart and three non-consecutive weeks on Mediabase's Alternative chart. It's still inside the Top 5 in the latter and has spent 13 consecutive weeks inside the Top 10 and 21 weeks in total so far.

Regarding the other releases you mentioned, "catch these fists" by Wet Leg is somehow struggling to reach the Top 5 (currently at #6) in this format, but it reached at #2 on the Alternative Adult Alternative (Triple A) format in both Billboard and Mediabase charts. "Everything Is Peaceful Love" by Bon Iver peaked at #4 on Triple A and didn't chart on Mediabase's Alternative chart. "Never Enough" by Turnstile is currently at #3 (peaked at #2) on Mediabase's Alternative chart so far, while "My Mind Is A Mountain" by Deftones is currently inside the Top 20 and Top 40 on Mediabase's Alternative and Mainstream Rock's charts, respectively. Meanwhile, "Bloom Baby Bloom" by Wolf Alice is currently inside the Top 20 on Mediabase's Alternative chart.

I'm not trying to diminish the acclaim all of these acts have with their songs, but it's undeniable the impact that "back to friends" has had on Alternative during this year and, coincidentally, the GRAMMYs period of eligibilty, so if Warner is smart, they should submit that one to this category and "undressed" to the mainstream ones (re: Pop) because he actually has a strong chance to get a nomination in those categories besides BNA. The debut album, in my opinion, is only to emphasize the nominations he might get if it's actually released.

The rock/alternative Grammys aren't about charts. To get in the pop category you need to sell and chart high, with the rock category its more important to be acclaimed, have prestige in the industry and be well established.

His music is quite decent so I wouldn't mind BTF getting big noms.

Of course in true ATRL fashion haters ran into a thread to hate before the fans got in 😂

Anyways i'm so excited for this album and he is definitely deserving of a grammy.
