Come Closer is so good. Very nice album overall.

Really good to have a new pop boy I enjoy, it's been ages!

  • Well I'd definitely prefer if he wins Best New Artist instead of someone like Alex Warren

  • the male(?) GAYLE as far as i'm concerned

Man's got bops, stop being haters! He's 4/4 with singles so I'll definitely be checking his album out when it drops

This is a very solid debut. I like almost every song.

Very good actually.  "12 to 12" is a total smash.  "Crashing" and "Come Closer" can be hits as well.

I listened to this and honestly, I don't really think this album displays much of his potential. because even when listening to this album I still feel like I absolutely know nothing about this person. sombr? I barely know her! indeed… I sadly dont think this album will really stand the test of time which is unfortunate.

I get that this is just a debut album but he needs to create his own sound more. he is too inspired by 'Is This It' by the Strokes, even to the point that most of the songs sound reductive. lyrically there isn't a lot going on this album either. The production carries most of the songs.

What a great debut album. I enjoyed it a lot, great outros and amazing opening and  closing tracks.

Wow, no skips at all and lots of potential hits. That's what we like to hear! Come Closer is a huge highlight for me after first listen. I also loved Canal Street.

cute album, i liked most of the songs

i wish he had put makes me want you on there, that's my favorite from him

from the pre US numbers  on Spotify  i wish i knew  how to quit you did 85k and crushing 74k.

Excited to check it out tomorrow.

You mean to listen 1 or 2 tracks and never listen the rest of the album? :sistrens:

jk

OT: I'm liking what I'm hearing so far :clap3:

The album is good. Not perfect but I would give a 6,5/10. It's refreshing to see a male artist doing something different, especially in the age of all these Ordinaries and Lose Controls

I really enjoyed the album. Every single track has something special.

Sombr's Debut Album Has Everything Pop Has Been Missing

The 20-year-old musician's knack for luscious harmonies, melancholy lyrics, and perfect melodies — plus his boundless rockstar confidence — make for a standout LP on I Barely Know Her

Yeah he absolutely smashed it with this.  We Never Dated is probably still my favorite, but Dime, I Wish I Knew How To Quit You, and Under The Mat are fantastic.  Crushing and Come Closer are really good too.

Only one I don't really like is Canal Street - the lyrics seem really basic and juvenile and the production is probably the least interesting on the album.

But aside from that, amazing debut.  9/10 :clap3: Hopefully he gets that BNA nom he's after!

Edit: He gives me Sam Fender x BORNS, two artists I really love
