Rihanna - "Anyone"

Featured Replies

It sounds like a JLO ballad in regards to production.

Rih's voice… gosh so golden and rich.

I get why she's retired from music. ANTI was the best she could do and she'll never be able to live up to that again & she knows it.

Why do I hear Sia all over this? Are we sure she didn't write the song? :deadbanana:

Really? I don't hear Sia at all

This is soundtrack music for a kids movie. Like Beyoncé's "Rise Up" or the song Ariana Grande made for Trolls.

Y'all sound pressed anytime Rihanna steps one foot back into the music scene.

:khalyan:

Even "Rise Up" has a genius-level vocal arrangement. She took Phil Spector's famed "wall of sound" and achieved the same effect with only her voice: pure harmonies and countermelodies. She does the same thing with "I Care" too.

So I'm confused… the soundtrack list doesn't contain this? Was that fake?

Her ruining all the mystique and anticipation from the past decade by releasing that absolute pile of **** "song" and now this cheesefest.

she already did that with those two awful wakanda songs.

I just need to hear this in full and HQ. This isn't revolutionary but please give me an actual song this time Rih. Her voice sounds so good from the snippet.

Not hard to do, but this song surpasses by one thousand miles the other dreadful track.

What made her think that releasing the weakest song was a bright idea?

Bookmark-worthy shite.

Why has she made these songs when her voice has gone? The pitch correction is a mess

And you've heard the full studio version of « Anyone » ?

Most people with sense would read your above quote and assume that because the project is "soundtrack music" for a kid's movie that you can be careless with quality because the standards are lower. While you may be right for current Rihanna, I'm saying I don't see that from people who care about their full catalog.

To connect her previous kid's soundtrack work (songs initially fighting for slots on her studio albums - "Towards The Sun", "As Real As You And Me", "Dancing In The Dark", "Lift Me Up", "Born Again") with what these two songs are shaping to be is a disservice to her previous ear for quality.

Still the most beautiful voice in the history of music in those low notes, the high notes are not it tho mama it's giving jlo

Sounds gorgeous for the most part, I just don't care for some of the vocal processing they've been using. She can clearly still sing well enough, it's not the end of the world if she can't hit every note anymore :chick3: :heart2: just give her material she can work with!

This sounds very promising. She sounds great, some of y'all are tripping!

I didn't say anything about quality though. Soundtrack music for a kids movie has to be family friendly and sound appealing for the… kids, unlike any song from ANTI. So this was a weird comparison.

"Anyone" sounds at least as good as the Home and Black Panther tracks, based on the LQ snippet. There just seems to be this wishful thinking on here that Rihanna has lost her voice, her ear for hits, her cool factor, every time she does something music related post-Anti. We know that y'all wish she would just quit, for obvious reasons.

Love this. I miss her music a lot
Taylor and Beyonce are lucky rihanna is retired cause she was far bigger than them worldwide
love them both but facts are facts :gaycat2:
