I had high hopes for her when she dropped that silly haircut for a while then I saw one of her recent videos (the song wasn't good imo) and she had it back. Like sis what kind of hold does this cut have on you, it's not the gag you think it is. 

She'll always have a career, she has too many streaming hits to not. I think this has more to do with her output as of late. Tbh they really should be focusing her on the European market, her sound would do better there. 

 

But I also saw a recent video of her performing and she just didn't seem into it, probably stress from behind the scenes.

 

But a break and a rebrand would do wonders I think.

The moment she claimed that she was not inspired by Gaga, I knew that she would not go very far, because being grateful is important. You dont discredit the one who inspired you. 

 

Gaga, despite the on and off / feuds with Madonna, always cited Madonna as 1 of her main inspirations, same with Grace Jones. Grace Jones has trashed Gaga in the past, but recently Gaga cited her again as an inspiration. David Bowie also was not very kind towards Gaga, but he has always remained her idol. 

 

The fact that Gaga never said a mean word towards Ava....

She never disrespected Gaga and always showed her love. 
Ava has been making music for a long time and released her debut EP in 2008 so her music inspirations are artists who have debuted earlier like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera.

Does Gaga know she exists? 

This was a long time coming. She needs an entire rebrand with a new label and team. She should probably take a couple years off too to figure out an image and sound that she enjoys, is memerable, but also feels authentic. The maxicut was cute for 2019, but she needs something the GP can remember her by

Things seemed like they were sort of getting back on track for her after she announced her album, but oh well. 

 

I think she should just give up on the US market at this point, she does alright globally and gets an occasional DJ collab streaming hit here and there. Just embrace your cult status girl it's fine.

Since when a hiatus is a good idea for an artist who is flopping? 

She needs a rebrand. Her music is very impersonal - I feel like she needs to open up and let people know who she really is. The Ava Max persona very much feels like a mask that's not particularly unique.  Currently it feels like there is no intrigue into what she does next or WHY check out her music over others.

I need more samples and less self empowerment

Since the flop in question keeps releasing half-assed, uninspired music with no artistic direction and still nothing is sticking. She needs to go back into the studio and recouperate. Maybe she has artist block or something

There can be similarities despite no direct inspiration referencing. 

She's completely harmless and basically a local jazz bar singer who got super lucky so all these mean comments are unwarranted and just hateful for no reason. She makes bops and I'll always root for her. I have no doubt she'll regroup and find some success again in the future.
