The aesthetic for this album were srsly top notch. IMO it's her last album that had a fully well-executed concept and the last time she seemed full invested in a record which is sad that the flopping

So you don't like any songs on Bionic? I like Not Myself Tonight. It channels my boy gone wild when I'm railed by tops :-*

Not really. Just the following year, she was on Moves Like Jagger, a 5-week #1.

The album is overhated, it's actually a good album. Genre aside, it's comparable to Ciara's The Evolution in the way it is structured and the overall length of the album.

It's a little bloated, it could benefit a lot from cutting 4-5 songs when also including the deluxe edition. The structuring of the album is a bit confusing and unnecessary. There's isn't really a story to tell with this album.

Desnudate, All I Need and Birds Of Prey are my favorites.

i wish it'd gotten the love it deserved at the time but its been nice to see more ppl come around on it since then, it's such an underrated album that i've always loved

An album with some much potential but terrible execution. That's why I've said she's never had a clear artistic vision or direction because how are you going to put Bird Of Prey and Not Myself Tonight in the same album.

Birds of Prey, Little Dreamer, The ballads, Monday Morning and Elastic Love are great songs.

Adding this would've made the album 10 times better

But unfortunately she lacked the vision and execution to present a cohesive body of work.

this largely wasn't X's decision

as someone who was a huge Leyenda Equis stan during this time, i kept up with every ounce of info so this is one of my fav topics :jonny:

her original vision was a fully electronic album in the vein of Bionic, Elastic Love, Birds of Prey etc. The new tracks on Keeps Gettin Better were a big indication of where she was going next, and X herself set up sessions with people like Ladytron, MIA, Santigold, & Goldfrapp (but it was confirmed by them that nothing ever materialised sadly). not much else is known about the original album other than the other Ladytron track Kimono Girl which still hasn't leaked, they also did 2 more unknown songs together.

but the label started pushing other directions because there was nothing commercial. they put her in sessions with polow da don for singles

the Sia/Sam ballads were done early in the process so i'm not sure what her original intention was with those, Linda Perry (Lift Me Up) was also an early collaboration. I can't remember if this was ever confirmed or just a rumor but the working title for a long time was Light & Darkness which kinda led me to believe she was doing a double-disc Sasha Fierce type album with one being ballads and the other the electro stuff

Also yes, the finished product is bloated with a messy tracklist but as a stan it was great to have a ~25 track album with so many different sounds after a long 4 year wait, i loved every song and would've been disappointed if any of them were cut. however i'd still loveeee to know what the original fully electronic album would've been, hopefully she revisits that sound someday if she ever decides to make another album

The album is too long but its my 2nd favorite Legendtina album :clap3:

her best album, I still love it all these years later. it still sounds fresh

it's rightfully getting its flowers in stan circles

If we talk about collab hits

Feel This Moment - 2013

Say Something - 2014

She just didn't tackle them onto her albums :sabrina:

11 years since the death of her career... thank you pitbull and a great big world...:sabrina:

Spoiler

considering her next album after those years came out in 2018 it would have been nonsensical to tack 4-5 year old songs on there... :sabrina:

She wasn't lying with the ahead of it's time.

Elastic Love, Monday Morning, Birds of Prey, even Woohoo still sounds good.
