Two semi-"psychedelic" pop albums from two husky voiced pop girls and two albums that gave crickets to the GP but that I personally love, which is better and which is most likely to have its retroactive appreciation moment 

Radical Optimism does not compete with Something Beautiful in terms of overall quality.

However, Houdini is definitely the best track off of both albums for me!

It really pains me to say this since i LOVE miley and i dont care much for miss dula, but nothing stuck with me in miley album. Dua takes it since i liked houdini 

RO has Houdini, Training Season, Happy for You, These Walls, Illusion, Falling Forever. Something Beautiful has... songs. 

Walk of fame is better than anything on RO

radical optimism easily. miley has a habit of often not really delivering at album length, i liked the title track and end of the world but it really falls off a cliff in the second half. dua's may not be her best but it's good, there's nothing that's esp boring on there

I love both women, but here's my truth: one is giving us songs that take over five minutes to breathe which both pop ear worm melodies AND unique structures and instruments. The other is giving us kinda generic pop songs with no real artistic vision. Miley takes it this time around. RO has some bops, but the album as a whole is nothing to write home about and a lot of the songs fall flat or do not use their full potential. SB on the other hand is a cohesive, dynamic magnum opus imo 

A normal pop album vs one of the greatest albums of the decade? And the normal pop album is winning the poll? Yes that sounds about right.

RO is a solid album.

 

Something Beautiful is giving unfinished Garageband project (especially with how awful the technical side is, that mixing especially…)

Something Beautiful is pure art and collection of many genres, has depth lyrics, vocal delivery, the production is like heaven...  while radical optimism is generic and bland. Reborn alone is better than entire Duas album 

"Something Beautiful" is not easy to digest for people who do not have a deeper music knowledge. Radical optimism is for people who like mall music 

I've been trying to get into Miley's new album and it's just not it for me. Not one catchy song on her whole album. Really disappointed. So Dua because it feels more fun and disgestable for me

But SB doesn't have hits and that will affect it. 

If you're not an albums' artist, and Miley definetly isn't, retroespective acclaim and streams only comes from hits.

I haven't listened to 'Something Beautiful' in full yet... I will soon tho

Both are iconic

Both Mikey and her stans wish she had a song as good as Houdini in her discography
