I love Chappel and i wil always be there for her but if you want me to be totally honestly im dissapointed with the lack of music videos

IDK, I think she has a bad attitude, and it made me disinterested in her.  I also feel a bit uncomfortable with her calling herself a drag queen - although I know it's technically accepted - it just feels a bit difficult to grasp because the history of drag typically involves biological males exaggerating gender norms as a form of art and expression, some even full encapsulating themselves in the culture, and so many have suffered at the hands of society because of their expression of themselves, even being murdered. 

 

I liked her when I thought she was genuine, and that was refreshing to see, but I realized that it wasn't the case

She literally has a 5 year old song in the top 10 right now… and her 2 year old album is still top 20 too.

I think cis women can do excellent drag because at the end of the day femininity is simultaneously fetishized and demonized by society in people of all identities, but if what Chappell does(pop music with costumes and lots of makeup) qualifies as drag then so does literally every other main pop girl ever.

 

Gaga, Bey, and Madonna have all invented personas that much more closely resemble drag at points of their careers and even they didn't use the term. It's an interesting conversation to be had for sure.

 

 

 

OT: She's extremely talented and she will be an instant mpg if she can develop a mpg work ethic.

The refusal to make a great music video is kind of weird. 
 

Like in the time she spends going to random podcasts, she could just film a music video.

Out of all the new girls, she has the best appeal to all demographics music and image wise but the lack of music videos, attitude and constant brags about being too different or edgy makes her unlikeable. I mean you just have to look at her to know she's special but she tries too much to prove it. Let the music and the visuals -if she bothers to do it- speak for it. There's a reason why Sabrina and Olivia had more success so far. GP training is essential

A proper good pop song will show us that. The Giver was too country and not what Chappell fans were expecting so, it was kinda expected for this to flop.

I don't disagree with anything you've said, and I guess I should've understood that women have had horrible times throughout history while embracing their femininity but maybe I just don't equate drag with cis women's declarations of individualism and femininity.  I think it's just a really confusing idea and concept.  Whatever the case, I feel uncomfortable with Chappell utilizing drag culture in the way that she does, it just seems disingenuous

She was for like eight months tbh; there was a period after Good Luck Babe where it became borderline sacrilegious not to like her even though she only had one album out and most of her fans had only known who she was for like. 6 months. But that time is long past now.
