How? It's so stable on streaming platforms.

I’m sorry but at this point it feels that she doesn’t give a sh*t about her career anymore. She calls out netflix for that joke but then she willingly decides to work with an abuser in a movie that it’s gonna give her 5 mins of screentime. No info about the rerecordings (i dont even feel excited about the rerecording anymore) other than just to send her crazy fanbase to bully and pressure artists managed by scooter, what about tweeting “hey this is gonna take more time than expected”. She doesnt owe us anything but if she takes advantage of her fans (merch, netflix drama, damon albarn) how about sending one single tweet explaining what is going on. And yes, she does have power over her merch just like halsey fired umg merch because of all the drama surrounding it. She drops stuff just to forget about it the following week. Don’t bother telling me “you wouldnt have survived 2016” because i have been a fan since 2008 and tbh this is the first time i have lost interest in her career. I love her but lately she has been making too many questionable career decisions and I’m not just taking about the music. This is not hate, I just wanted to share my opinion and I would love to read what you guys think too, whether you agree or disagree with me.

The deserved lashings :gaycat6:

I agree with most points you've said, but I think to me personally her biggest problem is not that she's seemingly not doing anything, but the complete lack of communication on her part.

It wouldn't kill her to write a few tweets or do an Instagram livestream to explain what' the current situation.

Everyone would appreciate even a simple "I have a lot on my mind right now" over this pure silence we have right now :gaycat6:

Yeah idk. She still has quite a lot of pure sales too and there is always something weird going on there.

But just looking at US Spotify it was #114 last week and #118 this week, so it certainly should have still charted based on that.

But the level of competition always changes a bit from week to week too. Same units that gets you #190 one week, could get you #210 the next week

I see it more as a lazy summer day album, one where you have nothing to do, or are maybe taking a train ride through the countryside, or are sitting on the porch listening to the cicadas. It's very peaceful to me :relax:

So I know someone who gets BB info and:

#200 album did 6,905 units, Fearless TV did 6,888.

So it was only 17 units from charting :rip:

To me, Folklore gives late summer and early fall, Red gives the middle of October with full fall colors, and Evermore gives late fall, before winter really sets in but when things are stark and grey - November, basically, to reference the title track.

A lot of how Folklore feels comes from songs like Seven, which to me sounds like the feeling of playing outside on a hot late summer day as a kid. Illicit Affairs is the more adult side of this, but I associate it with a hot, humid day, the smell of fresh-cut lawns and of the forest right after it rains. I've always pictured the "meetings in parking lots" line taking place in the parking lot of, like, a literal park, for some reason - lots of green, out of the way, a quiet place to have your tense and painful breakup moment. Mirrorball, too, feels summery to me - the very end of it, maybe, as fall is beginning to creep in and you're out with your friends at some backyard bonfire with drinks and games and stories.

It's certainly not a beaches and ice cream and swimming pools kind of summer album, but it's some kind of summer album - a more down to earth kind, the experiences that you might have just as August slips away and school starts again and the fun begins to wind down.

I’m not posting this here for the kpop delusion... I’m posting to ask if the quote is true? Is the credit only for using parts of her song or did she actually write it with them?

I always thought, cruel summer (the music part) was a scrap of Masseduction and Taylor asked Annie if she could use it.

I remember when Lover came out, Annie did some promo on her IG and Taylor replied with the lyric "'I love you', ain't that the worst thing you ever heard?" All in caps so I don't know if that's something Annie wrote with them or it was more like an inside joke.

I don't hear any similarities :celestial5:

About cruel summer, I think Annie had the smallest involvement. She only got 5% from the Olivia Rodriguez sample, Taylor got 25% and jack 20%. This is what Taylor said about writing the song:

the feeling of a summer romance, and how often times a summer romance can be layered with all these feelings of, like, pining away and sometimes even secrecy. It deals with the idea of being in a relationship where there’s some element of desperation and pain in it, where you’re yearning for something that you don’t quite have yet, it’s just right there, and you just, like, can’t reach it. So, this has some of my favorite lyrics on it, and it was so fun to write this. Jack and Annie [Clark] did the track and a lot of the instrumentation, and I did the topline in whatever language that is. A topline is all the notes and the lyrics you hear. So whatever you would sing, that is what I wrote on this. It was just so fun to write this one and I really love this one. Jack and I like to do ranting bridges. Like in “Out of the Woods” where the bridge is the biggest moment of the song — we revisited that concept."

Jack probably wrote the majority of the instrumental and she only contributed slightly to it.

Spoiler

I think only Taylor should've been credited for the Deja Vu sample tbh.

Yup, that is what left me thinking that Jack and Annie did that track for her album Masseduction because it sounds pretty similar to it.
