    Hey swifties, what is considered Taylor's biggest missed opportunity for a hit/single? I guess it was Cruel Summer, but not anymore right? 

    Anyway I just wanna post my submission: 

     

     

     

    This would've been a huge classic by now if it was a single with a nice MV :jonny5:

    I really believe this song could've been huge if they had pushed it with a good video and radio plays. I could see it being a big global duet.

    If she performed this on tour it would have even more streams than it already has and it's sitting pretty at 930M with no promo.

    Getaway Car for rep back in 2017 when it made some cute numbers because it was fan favourite. Exile for folklore. Also Daylight for Lover.

    Exile could've definitely been one of her big classics and most streames songs with some radio attention.

     

    Paper Rings could've been a success with a video or even just an Eras Tour performance.

     

    The re-recorded Clean also sounds like a hit to me!

    Her releasing TSOU as a pop radio single instead of Enchanted was definitely one of her biggest missteps. I'm also still fuming about exile. HAC would have eaten that song up

    Not releasing 'The Way I Loved You' as a single during Fearless was a HUGE misstep. 

     

    It was destined to be a smash. I will forever stand by the fact it should've been released as single #2 alongside the album instead of 'White Horse' :grump:

    Ugh, the way exile could've been her Say Something. I'm bitter and envious of the fact that Taylor has yet to meet Legend X in the male/female stripped piano duet smash club. I guess Taylor just doesn't have what it takes

    Seriously though, exile getting pushed over cardigan would've been a much better decision if she wanted to book a hit in that moment (and it wouldn't have interfered with cardigan's later success, since cardigan getting a video and a little bit of radio play had basically nothing to do with it going viral). Oomfs and I have already storyboarded several concepts for an exile video over the years (the main hurdle here being that Justin Vernon is... no longer as attractive as his old Wikipedia picture from 2012 would lead you to believe), and if you cut out the first verse and start the song at 1:20, it becomes a manageable length for radio and spares everyone the jumpscare of their new Taylor Swift single starting with a human foghorn :clack:
