Am I bugging but were we not supposed to get more music? Also i don't see whats the issue with adding Better Thangs and Jump on an official body of work especially when they're better than most of the tracks on the actual album?

I hope I don't jinx it, but is it just me or is the online sentiment for the album pretty positive overall? I haven't seen so much positivity around her music on X in a very long time, especially for a full body of work. 

I know that most people didn't listen to the EP, but maybe throwing the tracks on was a good idea

I think the only reason why she's not touching those tracks, is because she can't. Republic or whatever label she was working with probably owns those tracks. She went independent after her and the label parted ways, and…. Well, we're here.

 

Edit: Oh wait I see they're both under Beauty Marks now, maybe she does own em??

I agree. Hopefully Republic / Uptown Records (who she was signed to at the time) let her take those back so she could add them. I have a feeling this will be the last Ciara album for a long time.

 

Because of how final this era feels, I would also add underrated R&B jams "Sorry / Got Me Good" from the early One Woman Army -> Ciara sessions, as well as this unreleased gem:

 

 

Why You is a gorgeous and solid song. What will always be insane to me is that if managed and promoted properly she could've easily been right up there with Nicki, Beyonce and Rihanna and technically she is because every era she manages to get it a hit, she is stunning, talented, people like her but her going independent is lowkey the worst thing that has happened to her musically speaking as an artist. 

 

Yeah she can easily reintroduce people to her catalog with proper promotion. Does she actually have a management team? Also respectfully she needs to sign to a label. 

 

Re-release The Evolution and make Do It featuring Will.I.Am available everywhere (another hit that got away from her. Could've easily been her Fergalicious)

 

Re-release Fantasy Rude and make When I, Echo, I'm On, Click Flash available everywhere. If possible also officially released scrapped gems like Walk On Em, Switch, Blauw and Robotic.

 

Re-release Basic Instinct with FX, Swag It Out featuring David Guetta, Pretty Girl Swag, I Don't Care, Shut Em Up and Why You

 

Re-release Ciara and include the droplets Sweat featuring 2Chainz, Sorry, Got Me Good and make the deluxe tracks One Night With You and Backseat Love available everywhere

 

Re-release Jackie and tack on droplets Oh Baby, Thirsty and Special Edition 

 

It's crazy that now that her celebrity profile has been at an all time high her music isn't matching the status. It's very clear that music at this point is in some capacity a hobby. It's something that she does for fun and enjoys. But with that comes her not coming inspired and hungry enough to really serve as we all know that she can and should. 

 

If she really cared we would've been had more high profile features. Imagine BRB with Drake or Jump with Lil Wayne instead. Another Nicki Minaj collab. 

 

She has all the power, resources, impact and influence to come up with some fire material for herself with Major Lazer (her Iza collab still knocks to this day), link up with actual new generation talent worthy of her caliber like Tinashe, Kehlani, Normani (officially) and Rauw Alejandro. 

 

Work with Chris Brown music producers asap so she can have some modern variety and production that doesn't sound cheap and dated.

 

Didn't she teased a collab with a really big and major artists? Where are they? Lol

 

Also she needs to tour more. She's opened for Britney Spears, Rihanna and Bruno Mars during her prime so I really don't see why she can't do so now. And I don't mean to police her autonomy but RUSSELL PLEASE DO NOT GET HER PREGNANT AGAIN. CAUSE SOON WE ABOUT TO HAVE MORE KIDS THEN ALBUMS. 

 

Again she still has it in her if she can come up with Na Na, Freak Me and Trust Myself

 

She needs to tap into the Evapora, Get Up with R3HAB, the Fantasy collab of it all and explore that. Link up with someone like Kaytranada or Black Coffee to give us a smooth and sexy dance record

i totally disagree @SchmoodRing , what would be the point of rereleasing albums. chris brown has dated production, but uncomfortable truth is hes vocally talented and his fanbase streams any **** he gives them. thats why he has 5892020 tracks on the album, he doesnt even bother to filter it out.

 

i dont see how would feature of lil wayne (who is now washed out and is embarrassing himself from pr standpoint) elevate jump. bad song is a bad song and ciara doesnt have mariah carey vocals where that is not so obvious. shes kind of like normani, she can do what she can do, thats why production really matters in her case. 

 

she toured with missy and busta, idk why would she have to open as a legacy act for bruno mars (ok timbaland opened for them then and hes legacy act) but still.

No real structure to her team (resulting in this disappointing rollout), it doesn't seem like an actual writing camp took place and instead demos were just thrown together, and I'm not completely sure if the inevitable outcome / success of this project would motivate someone to continue.

My biggest dream for a renovated Ciara project would be for her to finally release Fantasy Ride in its original, expanded 3-disc structure (I think each disc was titled Groovetown, Kingdom of Dance, and Crunktown respectively). Her label abandoning that idea after she recorded a Beyonce-level of songs for that project was the first time she publicly beefed with LaFace / Jive. Would've loved to hear her full vision and all of the songs that were shelved. Sure they blamed the singles.... but who in their right mind chooses "Go Girl" as the lead when "Tell Me What Your Name Is" or her collab with Chris Brown ("Turntables") were right there? Would've put both of those out first in Summer (Turntables) and then Fall (Tell Me What Your Name Is) of '08, and then 'Never Ever' as the January '09 single to bring people to the album.

I just hate low quality the cici EP tracks are mixing wise or is that just me? I know she could afford a good audio engineer to get that together. 
 

Outside of that, love the intro…don't care for the tyga song (giving kidz bop&B)..the latto track is growing.

That's fine. You're entitled to your opinion. The point of re-releasing albums especially for someone like her is to give her flowers to her legacy and it'll also be an excuse to get more music and reintroduce her old music to the public again 

 

Chris Brown doesn't have dated production. He is always on trend and is versatile with his sounds which is why he still gets hits and his fanbase are always well fed and haven't abandoned ship. Chris Brown also is always working, promoting and tours. Something that Ciara has started to slack on once she got pregnant and especially when Russell came into the picture. 

 

No one has ever claimed that Ciara is or has to be a vocalist lol she does have a good voice. Smooth and sultry. She already did open for Bruno during Beauty Marks and at the end of the day she needs to tour and needs to exposure so opening for a bigger artist and touring arenas will only benefit her. That's what it seems like doing the tour with Timbo and Missy did for her. Remind her and the general public that she is still that girl when she wants to be.

Again does she even have a "team" at this point? She needs a writing camp ASAP again it's not like she's  broke. She's been at this for 20 years and not too long ago made a post on ig saying how she wants to continue this. She cannot afford to wait another 5 years and having another kid. Tour, WORTHWHILE collaborations and features only, new producers and production please. 

 

Tell Me What Your Name Is such a gorgeous and underrated song. So weird that around that time she got alot of **** for trying to crossover and do pop as if Chris, Usher, Beyonce and Rihanna weren't doing the same? Her being gatekept and forced to stay in the rnb box was always odd to me. 

 

Like imagine if she had release Pucker Up featuring Britney Spears (it was a demo during the Circus era), Up/Down featuring Rihanna (rumored Rihanna collab when they were still friends), Move Your Body featuring Ludacris as opposed to that weird operatic mess we got, When I, Echo, I'm On, Switch, Walk On Em, Blauw and Robotic phew. She would've been able to extend her commercial reign a little longer. 

Dance With Me nearly at 700k - That is not bad for YouTube stats.
