Songs you were wrong about?

Featured Replies

Was there a song that when you first heard a snippet you hated it or just wasn't interested in, but after hearing it in full you were proved wrong and now you love it?

When Rosalía teased HENTAI it was heavily mocked for the lyrics and I personally wrote it off too. Cut to: one of my favorite songs ever.

as a teenager i used to HAAAATE Happiness by Alexis Jordan . omg I can't even describe the hatred i felt for the song :skull: it was like nails on a chalkboard

i heard it again a couple years ago and realised it goes OFF.

I remember not liking it when he posted the snippet. But now I honestly catch myself singing it all the time

Listen to the original song called Brasil by Deadmau5 . That way you don't need to deal with the nails.

Die With A Smile. While I liked it I thought he sound was too retro for it to become even a moderate hit

Beyoncé - "No Angel"

I always skipped because of that breathy, cracking voice she sings with at the beginning, but past that part is a very cool song.

Bad Idea Right, hated it from the start, but can confidently say now that it's Olivia's best song ever, I love it

Video Games… I'm embarrassed to say it took Born To Die (song) to make me like Lana and I became a full stan after listening to the album and her unreleased. I was just not feeling it and thought it was drivel and depressing.

Now I kinda think it's one of the best and most important songs of our time :bird:

16 Carriages… I did NOT understand why this was a pre album release and I thought Cowboy Carter was not gonna be for me, when I listen again during the album it just HIT me so deep and it's one of my favs from the album.

This masterpiece. Hated it for years until a few months ago.

When twitter insiders were floating the title "Perfect Celebrity" around, I thought it was a horrid, fanfic'd name :skull: turned out to be one of my favorite songs on the album though.

i would not have predicted Flowers or Havana as mega smashes. to be fair, both got very big pushes.

At first, I hated Carmen. Now it's one of my favorite Lana songs:

This tweet struck fear into our hearts. Little did we know it would end up the best song ever.

Abracadabra. The snippet I heard which was just the post chorus sounded pure trash to me but the song is a 9/10

Poker Face, I remember listening the first time and thinking what is this? Sounds weird, the 2nd play finally hit and one of it's my 2nd most played song ever according to my lastfm :rip:
