Easy Lover has grown on me quite a bit 

 

 

It reminds me a bit of her unreleased Victoria track, much more refined though

such an amazing album that was dragged way down by the promotion and nearly every aspect of how it is being packaged

 

like the tracklist is kind of horrendous and actively works against the material. like if you look at plastic hearts, it starts off with such high energy and smacks you in the face and then settles into the more mellow and midtempo as it goes. this is like the opposite and especially keeping the GP in mind, it buries so much of its greatest material towards the bottom

I know YouTube is not as big as it was but at least Miley stills cares about visuals, deserve more attention

I liked most of it, but as usual with Miley's albums, it's very uneven. This one just has less highs but is more consistently good. My favorites so far are Golden, Something Beautiful, Pretend and Walk of Fame ( mostly because I fx with Brittany Howard)

The theater release will probably earn more money than any kind of revenue she could get from YouTube in 2025.

Why are the interludes my favorite part

Walk of Fame is such a sad song and the way they wrote it so clever 

walk of fame is such a ****** stellar interlude omfg

I've been taking time to let the album sink in cuz the mixing was ruining it for me but now I love it.

 

GBS and Give Me Love both sound like classics and the melodies are very tight and clean. With a remix, Golden Burning Sun could be THAT summer smash and a wedding classic, but alas 

 

Walk of Fame is soooo Can't Be Tamed coded and there were many moments on this record when her voice sounded exactly like it did on CBT and then her rasp would come in and remind me it's 2025. I love this album and I think in time it'll be my favorite from her but it's definitely a little loose and hard to get on the first few listens so I'm not surprised the critic reviews are split 

 

also, her songwriting is still quite weak but I think GBS, Pretend You're God, and Give Me Love is her sound. She needs to niche into that more because it suits her well. This is dead petz' more sophisticated but still chaotic older sister

Hubby and I just listened to it today as we started our vacation and we will be listening to it a lot more. Love the album from beginng to end. No song to skip! I actually think it ends stronger than it starts which was not expected because the opening pulls you in right away. Cheers to the immense growth shown on this album! 

Pretend You're God was my immediate fave. That + Reborn and Golden Burning Sun are top 3
