no ive obviously been listening to the explicit issue this entire time, its just not actually explicit i checked to see if they accidentally swapped the clean and explicit versions but nope

ok im starting to agree with the more positive takes for this deluxe, there is a slight spark here that was nowhere to be found on Showgirl (i know i said the exact opposite this morning, funny how opinions change)

honestly i was very lukewarm on these songs when i first heard em but im not entirely sure anymore... i need a few more listens to make sure either way i do sincerely think she can do much better than this and she will, i just really hope she takes her time with TS13 and that has nothing to do with misogyny i just want an artist i like to make good music again (NOT specifically folk or country or anything, i would be just as happy with an actually solid pop album too)

i still cant call this exactly good but i have to admit every track other than Patient Zero slightly grew on me, theyre better than the near entirety of Showgirl the more i think about it

controversial opinion: i love Eldest Daughter and i want to like Cleveland! so ******* badly, theres a great song hidden under the flat and boring production (thanks Max and Shellback)

somehow disliked TLOAS even more when i relistened to it yesterday but im going in with an open mind Patient Zero: not bad but the melody is just so ok. the production is better than the original at least. bridge is not good. might be a grower. Cleveland!: oh god. ok so i think there was potential there. i actually dont hate the lyrics on principle. but ugh the execution is SO botched. production is about as bad as the main album and she weirdly doesnt sound all that passionate. overall a good idea with horrible execution. Pink Clouding: not bad at all but the spark is missing. Babylon: easily the best track. production isnt bad, lyrics are fine, melodies are quite good. still, i expect better from Taylor given past records. not awful, it does give the album slightly more substance, but i feel like im gonna forget these songs pretty much instantly. and i never thought id say that about Pop Taylor.

video looks pretty good but the snippet is interesting... sounds a bit trip-hop ish towards the end?

wish the beats and overall atmosphere wasnt so samey but otherwise i love this album! really like the writing
