I'm not feeling Dirty Work, it's not even catchy.

it's just a pre release, right ?

 

Dirty Work sounds amazing so far  the beat is EVERYTHING 

Dirty work chorus is a grower tho I like it already

I agree. But it seems like they only did a "performance video" because Apple paid for it. Though it's barely a performance, more like a track video.

 

The strategy so far is a bit messy. Hopefully it will have the right effect of getting the public perched instead of turning people off.

Forgot about the Apple advertisement, they probably had deadlines to meet for this collab, comebacks get pushed back often so SM had to drop something I think.

The intro and some of the beat is giving Armageddon, but the song sounds like a bop!

 

OT: The performance video is interesting. I didn't really like the dancers' styling clashing with the girls though.

I think the full song will be very different from what SM has shown. The girls described it as a unique song with a new genre to aespa and said there are no similar songs in their discography to it. I'm going to choose to believe they weren't lying

Are they gonna release the song via performance video 3 weeks before the actual release?

Apple and YouTube paid for partnership. I do think the teasers are still a little too early, but YouTube Shorts is the #1 promotional tool for people under 18 so they're securing an audience, registering a song for trending purposes and advertising the release. It'll pay off like how TikToks used to make songs smash in Korea.

 

YouTube Music is now the dominant form of streaming consumption in Korea overall, too. Expect to see Aespa's songs all rise in points now.

Kind of. They have a mini coming sometime between July and September but month isn't confirmed yet.

Drama and Whiplash's teasers were amazing. I didn't like Supernova's, but it turned out excellent.

 

Dirty Work could still turn out great, but we needed a pop anthem.

today is the 9th in Korea and the performance video with the snippet was already released:

 

 

I was so confused when i saw that video. SM should at least title it performance video teaser

The performance video came out today. It's sponsored by Apple and basically just a clip of the instrumental plus a preview of the chorus. Not the full song.

 

Kinda weird that they are even releasing this much of the song now though, since there's still weeks to go before release. The full song/MV is not released until June 27th

It's part of the chorus. It's over 30 seconds so it'll count for YTM and charts but it's not more of a teaser than the full thing.

that's not what most users here were saying. even @Ubermensch and @Gaia still hates Drama 

 

it took time  for people to like the songs 

 

aespa's music isn't about easy hooks and pop anthems anyway
