I agree about what you said about Stray Kids but to say BabyMonster, LSF and NJ are bigger than BP is factually false. Also NMIXX bigger than Twice? Anyeon!

I think they meant all of them combined are bigger than BP or Twice? :coffee:

having influences from the biggest kpop debut in a decade does not amount to plagiarism. having some similar concept photos and styling isnt plagiarism. words have meaning you know :gaycat6:

why are you ignoring my post where i showed that illit's project plan copied newjeans' project plan words for words, even down to the layout? :gaycat6:

Lee Soo Man literally talking about every group including TVXQ lawsuit to disrespecting Jonghyun

But still not talking about Red Velvet

I just know SM are talking about the group the same way Starship is talking about Cravity. Even though RV has smash hits

about the documentary, i'm sure LSM isn't an awful person, i also think he's the main reason why kpop is what it is today and he used to be a visionary. however, i feel like he isn't needed anymore and it's funny that they mention his nephew ousting him :skull:

if korean pop music wants to grow, i believe it has to abandon a lot of the stuff LSM brought to it. i also think those things were necessary for the genre to grow and built a strong listener base, but it's doing more harm than good now

HYBE defenders don't concern themselves with petty formalities like "truth" and "facts", sucking on bang sikhuk's micro is much more important than these minor inconveniences. Thank you pd-nim 🤩

SM was never found guilty of slave contracts, part of the process of enacting contract reform in the wake of that lawsuit settlement was the courts ruling that the only detrimental part of the contract was the term length. It's been literally 15 years, the lies are wearing thin. For every fallen idol, there's another 5 American singers who suffered similar fates. It's not disrespectful for these documentarians to rightfully discuss LSMs part in a tragedy, it would be even more disrespectful if they completely sanitized his legacy.

Kpop definitely has a dark side but so does every entertainment industry and I think that's the point they're going to be reaching towards. Western media loves preying on racist stereotypes to discredit foreign entertainment. Western news media pretended SHINee never existed until that day when suddenly they were the top headline of the day and a household name. My oomf @lgaga1fan wasn't a fan yet and was convinced kpop was all smoke and mirrors until that day because Western media did so good of a job of covering up the hallyu wave that the friend of a fanatic could overlook it. There's a bias whether you like the person it's being pointed out on behalf of or not.

These fake online narratives that get adopted by people are the biggest hurdle to kpop's survival in the future because if a fandom or agency gets angry enough, lies get planted into the canon. Until we start living in reality and acknowledge facts, nobody is safe from this bs. You don't need a phd in kpop discourse to know for a fact that 2/3 of JYJ were proven to be lawless snakes in the long run. How many ex-SM artists who left on bad terms need to be locked up or accused of heinous crimes before we start admitting that maybe there's two sides to every story? How many artists need to part on good terms before we admit that possibly the biggest entertainment company in the country isn't expertly concealing a clandestine celebrity abuse network?

so did SM snatch her name from her?

I guess we won't know until she tries to release music, if she does it under her full name or as Yeri

She said she will be promoting only as "Kim Yerim" from now on.

Blitzway is primarily an acting agency, so I don't know how likely it will be that we will see any music released while she's there.

Though I'm guessing if RV ever have a comeback under SM, they will use "YERI".

You all did a little too much with "Gnarly."  Maybe it's the law of lowered expectations, but I'm going to watch it again.  Meanwhile, this Meovv thing is one and done. :fan:

I thought Riize was supposed to have listenable music? They're so trash now

Bless your eyes with THE visual of 5th gen :wanda:

Finally Teddy sending them to promote in other music shows, not only Inkigayo :clap3:
