I think we can admit that XG has had the best performance of all the k-pop girlies and boys this weekend. 

XG levels up whenever Maya is the center. She just has IT. 
 

I really love that the crowd is so into the performance. The fan chants and participation is everything.

 

I hope this raises their profile. They deserve all the success and then some

Is This Love transitioning from the acoustic/piano version to the OG version was beautiful. NGL I thought that was the end of the performance, it gave me closer vibes.

Same! I thought ITL would be the perfect song to close their set. Now I have no idea what’ll be the closer lol. 
 

Also shout out to their music director (probably Jakops) for the rearrangements with the live band. It sounds so fresh.

The crowd chanting their name

So there are some things to work on and some things to change. First the backdancers need a costume change. In the first half they were blending in with the girls and in the second half they were just distracting with that awful yellow polkadot number.

 

But the girls were performing and killing it from jump. Even so at the beginning, it felt like maybe some were nervous, like something was off. But as the set went on, they only got stronger, more confident, more energetic, sharper, and just more badass. They just kept going up and up and up and finished at the zenith which was amazing to see.

 

The set as actually strongest when just focusing on the girls alone on stage doing their thing. They were so on and charismatic you didn't mind the lack of production budget. Their performance made up for it.

 

Most importantly every song was a bop and when all the music is legitimately GREAT, that helps a good deal with the set.

We need an album of just the Coachella versions of all the songs because got daNG

You know ITL could have been a cool encore. But yeah looking at the clock no way they could fit anything else.

 

Sad we didn't get Howling (though it was there in the dance break), but we got all the important stuff. Well TBF their discography isn't too big 

 

Loved their performance! Love all the live arrangements. I think they had a good balance of live singing/ lip sync, and they killed their dance as always. The comments section on YouTube was full of people arguing whether the mics were on or not lol

 

As for issues, the main problems were at the start - the girls, backup dancers, lights, and background screen were all white/grey which were confusing. Also the camera operator was messy when trying to jump from one girl to another. I preferred it when the camera was more still and focused on the group as a whole - why not highlight how great the girls are at dancing? Also, XG was struggling with their umbrellas in the wind during In the Rain, I wonder if they will make any tweaks for the next week. 

 

Overall I'm very happy with their performance, the girls were excellent and I hope the crowd and the public take note, they deserve all the success and more!

Anyway I'm glad the black pink are performers media play has been dismantled once and for all. It's always been Rose ft dead weight other than their literal first week of promotions as a group.

 

Minzy and CL can eat those girls for lunch while, sick, injured, intoxicated, and handcuffed all at once. 

 

Hopefully the horrible showing isn't a roadblock to getting girls who can actually perform booked going forward.

All their hardwork during trainee days and JAKOPS strictness are paid off nicely now. I'm so happy for them

that's why it always baffled me when non kpop stans would act like blackpink are the only talented group or only ones that can perform fff it really couldn't be further from the truth and anyone actually into kpop could tell you that

XG actually delivered
