They were not lipsyncing. Their mics were clearly on (you could hear their breathing and outfits moving etc, WINTER's mic was even switched on way too early).

However, they did have a (very) loud backing track over their live vocals in this performance. There were definitely other performances on the night which sounded less live than aespa's did.

TBH since Daisy exposed the Live AR, saying idols are jumping around with full jewelry in the studio while singing to make it seems it's live. I don't believe any idol group nowadays.

Jisoo already teasing the next album oh my god :WAP:

The performance was alright, but it was obvious they were lip-syncing and lacked energy. If they're going to lip-sync, they should at least have better stage presence.

Aespa aren't natural performers, and that's okay, but if they actually sang live, it could help cover up the areas where they struggle with dancing and stage presence.

Groups like IVE are in a similar situation as Aespa, with both groups not being strong dancers. However, IVE has managed to cover up their weaknesses and connect with audiences by singing live. Aespa could do the same if SM allowed them to perform live more often, as their biggest strength is their vocals. Their choreography isn't that difficult either, so it's unclear why SM doesn't let them sing live more.

These literal delusions :deadbanana2:

Everytime one of you calls a live performance lip synced or a severely edited vocal a live performance all you're doing is advertising to people with ears that you have no idea what you're talking about about. I'm not even just dragging Pluto this is a very common issue in kpop :hoetenks:

Well didn't Jisoo already said she was recording 2 albums before her comeback.

Does anyone here stan The Wind? They won me over with this comeback. I love the GFriend vibe of the song and the choreography is nice.

Everything I stated was 100 % correct.

Didn't you just make excuses for aespa last week, saying their lack of stage presence is because they have to focus on looking "pretty" or something?" :deadbanana4:

Aespa aren't the only non-dance group in K-pop, but when they lip-sync for most of their career, it highlights their lack of stage skills. They would be much better performers if they cut down on their weaknesses, like focusing less on the choreography they already struggle with, and singing live instead, and concentrating on connecting with and hyping up the crowd. One of the few times where they actually sang 100 % live was during their Coachella performance. If SM actually continued booking them for global festival gigs, they would gain a lot of experience in that area.

Your other faves like 2NE1 aren't that focused on choreo either, but they still manage to outshine 99% of K-pop on stage. They sing live, have natural charisma, and know how to connect with their audience without relying on choreography. Like has Park Bom ever been in sync with the choreo in her life? Some just have that presence naturally, while others don't, though everyone can improve, of course.

You seem confused here on several levels. aespa did not lip sync. aespa are exceptional performers. I never said they lack stage presence because they're pretty I said they lack stage presence sometimes because they're over-chorepgraphed. aespa has better performance skills than the majority of this industry.

There are like 3 girl groups ever that 2NE1 cannot run circles around even in their old age so comparing them to aespa isn't a gotcha. CL literally destroys your entire stan list just with her solo talents alone. Park Bom is a singer, not a dancer, kpop positions used to mean something.

I watched aespa stage, while it seems it was not lipped, but oh my god why are there so many dancers but the stage still feel empty. (but then again you can barely see the dancer)

If moving the goalpost was a talent, you would be Beyonce 2.
