People were saying that the reason for a lot of K-pop acts to not be nominated is because they don't have a real smash hit in the US, don't write, or aren't involved in their music, only to see a barely top 40 song (with zero writing credits from the members) getting nominated twice.

How is it that Bruno Mars winning a Grammy for the nth time will become "kpop history" but only Katseye nomination exposed the Grammys xenophobia?

Rosé and her solo releases were not even near to be considered for the Grammys. The song had to be attached to one of the biggest Western artist ever to get nomination...

And honestly, GOLDEN is kinda the same case as it is backed by Sony and Netflix.

 

Not one of the nominees is in the condition to point fingers this year... just saying...

Grammys aren't an objective measure of quality. They're a measurement of your industry reach. KATSEYE are nominated because Scooter Braun has decades of industry friends and pulled strings. They have nothing to do with quality or success and everything to do with how much corporate music employees are wanting to push certain artists.

 

That being said, KATSEYE would deserve it based off of their talent alone. Their musical output is still a little iffy, but give Lara her laurels.
