No one is saying internal theft technically warrants IP infringement but intellectual misappropriation is a huge ethical violation. MHJ had solid grounds for retaliation for how HYBE responded to her internal complaint. All of this is not magically independent of a hostile work environment which is tied to breach of trust. Too bad Korean court needs to protect the corporations.

MHJ had every right to be bothered! But its the kind of bother that you cant do anything about, its how things work...

She also  didnt have to drag the girls in her fight, nor to attack the other HYBE groups. She also should have known that her chances on winning the case were not good. But we are talking about a woman who takes legal advices from a  shaman :rip:

Again its not a korean thing. There are countless examples like these in the west market, idk why u guys act so above other nationalities.

No one is saying MHJ's internal complaint should yield results. But how HYBE responded was completely in the realm of retaliation.

"Other groups" are not just the members, which she already said have nothing to do in this political battle between adults.

NJ does not trust HYBE considering how they wanted to replace them. If anyone "dragged" them into this, it is the corporation that treated them as disposable.

The state of HYBEs girl groups is a mess. NJ gone for the forseeable future. LSFM being panned. Illit.

:monkey:

I feel bad for the NJ girls but I'm sorry the whole "kpop is over" dramatics is sending me. :1878188721_deadbanana2z-Copy:

I've been listening to kpop since 2011, longer than most and I'm not even THAT invested. :deadbanana4:

What's happening to New Jeans is sad but it is not a first. I saw it happening to B.A.P and Block B (kinda similar but widely different for Block B).

Now on the other case, I don't believe it's a member saying to exclude CBX... Just like I don't believe the members decided to exclude Jessica... Let's remember how SM tried to renew the contract of Shinhwa but wanted to exclude one members and tried to say it was the members doing. Which is what made the member all leaving together and 27 years, they are still all together.

Ma ma ma ma Moooooo

Can someone explain to me why they would find this travesty funny, other than citing fake, army/hybe-created "bullying" allegations against NJ? If the public said NO to LSFM's vocals and ILLIT's obvious plagiarism, then why is this NJ's fault? Why are they and MHJ the only ones who should roll over and let their creative be stolen and have their careers torpedoed just because Bang doesn't like them?? Do you guys realize what you're defending? @sunny @Butters just wait

So what's happening with HYBE reports against every groups in the industry? Nobody saying anything? No company had to the balls to sue?

That's fine and dandy but if that's the case then that's MHJ's fight, not the NewJeans girls.

You can't say your own contract is invalid because another person was allegedly screwed over.

Unless the NewJeans contract stipulated that they were to be under MHJ's supervision for the duration of the contract, then whatever happened between Hybe and MHJ is a fully separate issue from whether or not the NewJeans contact is valid.

I guess they could try to invalidate the contract by putting the blame on their own parents who signed the contract on their behalf while they were minors and claiming they weren't acting in their best interest…

but that would be an even bigger mess

With all due respect, **** the contract. If someone wants to leave their job no matter what it is they should be allowed to. Kpop idols shouldn't be locked into a contact like they signed up for a military draft. HYBE can keep the name NewJeans and just replace all 5 members.

Technically, they *can* leave by buying themselves out of the contract. Unfortunately, from what's being said, that would cost them $200-300M.

As if SM cares what one single members thinks. :coffee2:

Obvious PR is obvious.

They didn't because they know Hybe has these lawyers bought out and will use Tag PR and their cult fanbase to attack whoever goes after their beloved company with rumors and cyberwreckers. It's insane. Even the one Taehyung stan on here is liking shady posts about NJ even though the internal documents talk about him too??? They don't care

Last time I checked the NJ girls were under threat of being replaced, so MHJ or not they were still directly involved in a hostile work environment that warranted a breach of trust aka grounds for contract termination.

Katseye fans are gross you'd think yoonchae is 20 but she still a minor and they're defending HYBE when they have a past history of oversexualizing idols

Many of you need to take a long look in the mirror.

The same people who clutch their pearls about Sulli or Jonghyun dying, pretending to care, while cheering on a concentrated effort by Hybe to do the same to these girls… I can't  with you ghouls

Hyein is 17 and has to go through being forced to pay $700K legal fees to a multi billion dollar conglomerate while having her name smeared in the media every day, all for wanting to make music with a team she feels safe with. What a world we live in. The evil always wins
