This randomly came on my feed and yes i watched the whole thing. It's really interesting to see a clear shift between each generation, 3rd gen kickstarted by RV/TWICE/BP in 2015/16  and 4th gen by i-dle/ITZY in 2018/19. One thing that hurts is that Mamamoo did not last as long as they should have.

so if NewJeans contract doesn't end until 2029 that's about 3 years & some months away (starting from 2026), their ages would roughly be - Minji, Hanni - 25, Danielle - 24, Haerin - 23, Hyein - 21

 

there's plenty of groups active around that age, the wait would be excruciating but the hype would be huge once they finally do comeback even if the concept is more mature or something idk. In the meantime maybe they can do other things besides music? Idk if they are allowed tho, didn't HYBE make them pause their activities or brand deals too? :/ 

 

All in all this sucks, but NewJeans coming back isn't impossible. Plus I don't think they will have to wait that long, HYBE's shady dealings and fraudulence will catch up with them eventually, hopefully they get exposed and that company goes down before 2029. Once sh*t goes down i'm sure there can be a loophole or a re-judgement.  

 

MHJ could just debut another group with her new company but that might cause backlash. chii idk-

This is how I feel. A lot of the general international fandom is already leaving, so I hope it continues to dwindle. A bunch of robotic technocrat ceos and boring idols devoid of any personality or artistic integrity. All they know is how to do cringey baby voices or cosplay as black Americans

 

We will likely never have another 2NE1 or truly talented artistic group because Hybe will send Tag PR to ruin them whenever that disgusting criminal ogre chairman feels threatened 
 

 

They might as well just become AI since people like animated groups more than anything those losers made this year.

Another thing that I find super suspicious about all this is that Bang Jong-un has never uttered a single word about this case, never addressed it in any capacity despite its intensity. He didn't want to draw any attention to his jealousy-fueled plan to sabotage his own group with his c-suite bros?

I feel bad for NewJeans, because in this situation they're the ones who are losing the most. I mean, HYBE has many other groups to rely on, and MHJ just opened her own agency/label and is still allowed to work. 

Their law firm did a terrible job in this case. They and their lawyers should have focused on finding an agreement to end the contract.

you cant pay your way out of this contract unless the judge orders the option. sadly hybe can keep them until it expires 2029 or work out a deal with them but seems unlikely considering how the court ordered mediations flopped

BOTS have been projecting this abandonment narrative that she just ditched the girls to save herself and as an artist you dont ditch your masterpiece like that. it would not be a good look to just debut another group i honestly thought the ooak announcement earlier this week was made in hopes of a favorable ruling.

yeah this was predictable. they decided to forget how a contract works, and they didn't have any legitimate claims. but the real fallout is the damage they did to their brand and how, out of sheer spite, they fueled one of the biggest hate trains i've ever seen against Illit.
