Yeah very hypocritical of the katseye fans to behave this way when they've been calling out other fanbases for what they did to katseye

I love this for her cuz she was one of my favorites on Dream Academy... basically we're getting who Giffen wanted to debut.

Oh wow not them proving me wrong, I thought she was gone for good. The group is saved! :gaycat2: No but seriously though they really need good music and concept now if they want to survive against KATSEYE thriving at the same time.
So Ezrela is pretty much confirmed too right?

The fact that this could be a Top 3 worst title tracks of the year. :rip:

The SM demo vault is empty! This is a K emergency! Are the Swedish songwriters and producers on strike or something? We need them to rescue adspam form this embarrassment.

Worst is already reserved for LE SSERAFIM's title tracks. Unless you managed to avoid listening to their tracks which are impossible due to the massive autoplay and playlist :deadbanana:

Legendary discography is definitely an overstatement considering their b-sides are almost always filler. half of aespa's b side discog sounds like demos from other SM acts like Red Velvet and the other half sound like TikTok attempts at getting a viral hit from some random songwriter who posts and says "omg who wrote this song of the summer :chick1:". They willingly release NCT scraps from time to time and also have songs that are very clearly written for other groups (even on this new EP Bubble sounds like a RV demo). Whiplash as an EP was a step in the right direction after they dropped the ball with b-sides for a long time but it seems like they're losing the plot more and more as the days go on.

Rich Man's preview sounds fine, it's clearly the outro of the song. It's not a standout teaser and Dirty Work isn't a very good song with how manufactured and put on the entire thing is. aespa used to have this spark and really stood out with how powerful their singing abilities were. That's been gone since Supernova and it isn't looking like it's coming back based on the output we're getting.

I do agree that most of their bsides are questionable (cough cough armageddon) but their title track run is enough reason to call their discography legendary :foxaylove2:

This is misleading. The Unforgiven album is a compilation of songs from their 2 previous albums like Fearless, Antifragile, Blue Fame... as well as Unforgiven. This website doesn't make the distinction apparently and pulls all the stats for all those songs regardless of the album they are on. It's the equivalent of combining 3 albums into 1. The real numbers for this album are likely 1/3 or less.

Fearless

Blue Flame

Antifragile

Unforgiven

Eve, Psyche & The Bluebird's wife

oh wait I didnt know unforgiven album is their first 3 albums combined :deadbanana2:

Ezrela is a good fit for the vibe they're going with (i'm expecting wannabe/sis 2.0 from them) Marquise is a good shot too but idk... i think they're going with 5 members, 4 from DA and the japanese girl they're looking for.

Better Thing erasure when its a really great track... but anyways, are we suddenly forgetting Forever, Hot Mess, Life's Too Short?  Dirty Work isn't good to me  so it's not really a flawless run. Rich Man sounds alright but far from top tier from them.

They've had a great run but something has been lost in the past year. Their A&R is dropping the ball heavy with these album releases and it's definitely affecting perception of the TTs. The songs from Supernova - Whiplash are all great tracks but the clear directional shift post LSM is really annoying to me in some ways.  He was instrumental for them in many ways and was able to help curate such a distinct soundscape that helped them stand out. Even though Girls was panned its still one of the best tracks here too me. They've lost a lot of spark with the braggadocios vocals that made aespa stand out among a crowd after Drama. Armageddon was sort of an attempt to return to it and since it didn't perform as well as Supernova it's clear SM is at a standstill with their sound. Everything feels so manicured and put on with Dirty Work that it reeks of desperation to me and I can't stand that song. Great videos can only take you so far when the music itself isn't as good as it could be its just getting tired. Rich Man at least sounds better than Dirty Work so I'm happy about that, but based on the short snippet I'm surprised how timid they sound. When they have songs in their discog like Spicy where they REALLY go for it, doing a rock TT and sounding pretty tame is odd to me.

Hot is so inoffensive idk how you can call it bad. It's a well produced summery pop song and the girls stepped their vocal game up. Idk how you can try to drag them :rip:

I get where you're coming from I really do. and I think i'm blinded by stan glasses but I really believe its better to serve different sounds/genres and underperform than to keep getting hits with the same songs and formula (yes, this is big coming from a blackpink stan sksks)

I dont see why dirty work reeks desperation though? its a hip hop/rnb-ish tinashe-lite song, how is that desperate? they def pulled off both the song and concept/mv

once they're out of dirty work/rich man era, I know they'll come up with another collapse like supernova/drama/spicy

but yeah i'm just as frustrated as you when it comes to their bsides. I just dont understand why they can produce 100/10 songs like supernova, armageddon, drama but the album bsides are just total chops. whiplash mini was def a step in the right direction cause the mini is excellent and rich man mini sounds pretty cohesive too

I really hope they don't have more than 5 members. 4 if possible just don't add a jp member idc. Either way, a small and concise group, because a "global girlgroup" having a lot of members is literally like restricting them from having success in the west. We can tell from history. Twice is probably the only anomaly in this where they're selling out stadiums in the west but you can't deny they're still severely undermined outside of asia because of their group size.

How is this not Itzy?

It looks like they reused the Dalla Dalla set :deadbanana2:

Oh you don't understand, I'm obsessed :bird:  Taecyeon truly might be the most handsome Korean guy to me

Starting in less than an hour, BYOS:

  • MCD.EP903: AtHeart, Kep1er, Dahye, JUNIEL, IVE, JEON SOMI, JOY, SUNMI, CMDM, idntt, CORTIS, AMPERS&ONE, 8TURN, In A Minute, AB6IX, Snow Man, Stray Kids, TEENTOP

Juniel, Teentop and Bestie Dahye all on the same show. You'd think it's 2012 all over again, but then there'd be more than 3 girl groups in the lineup. Ten boy groups seems kinda timeless, though.

just surpassed "like jennie" as the most viewed mv by a kpop act this year. they did that in less than 2 months organically :clap3:

Yeah it seems like a lot of people don't use YouTube as much anymore.
