K-Pop Thread 2025

See this is what I mean. Two releases you didn't like and now you're saying they fell off/had a good run/they're done.

It's like Kpop stans don't engage with music where they just forget a group has put out great titles for years they spent months creaming over. Groups are seen as disposable where if they put out one or two releases that they don't like, that group might as well disband now. This is why Kpop runs like a factory.

The factory element is the core essence of K-pop, it is better to make your peace with it as a fan if the genre. What we love about it - the polish, the slick choreography, the visuals, the vocals, the catchy pop tunes and bangers - all of that is made possible by the factory like system. There is still a certain art to it and it can be done well - as with Aespa for the most part - or it can be done poorly.

I didnt say anything about disbandment, only that they have probably peaked. When you've been a K-pop fan for 13 years like i have, you have seen all of the groups you have stanned come and gone. It is just the nature of pop bands not just in Kpop but in general that they typically have a short shelf life. Aespa is 5 years in, about the same as when Red Velvet released Psycho, or when SNSD released IGAB, or when F(x) released their last album. Groups have nearly always peaked by this point. I am just being realistic :coffee2:

I got into Kpop with Lollipop by 2NE1 and Bigbang so I'm pretty ancient myself, trust me. Kpop is run only like a factory because of the mindset that groups always have to do the most to keep interest because one bad song and you might as well just disband.

A normal reaction that should be more widespread among Kpop fans is "You know what this title track isn't for me, but I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt & hope for the best for the next song" instead of "This sucks. Aespa peaked. Their best days are over!"

Snsd Peak never stopped. The Boys was a bigger song then I got a boy and that came out 2 years before it anyways. If we talking about dominance, they didn't stop in 2013. It was more around 2015-2016 when Twice reign started. That's like 9 years after their debut.

Aespa is doing fine. I don't think one average song is gonna hurt them.

I feel like this is what sets girlgroup and boygroup stans apart. Bg stans will be supporting their oppas no matter what. Girlgroup fans are quicker to ignore their faves or keep going back and fourth as stans (even when they're women). Not saying it's a good or bad thing because while it can be seen as being loyal it is also can be seen as more parasocial.

aespa's "average", yet being one of the best release of 2025

oh aespa saving the music industry once again, this is INSANE :jonny5:

the mic is on :clap3:

So no TWICE @Mitsuki

looks like the Chile rumor was also false

In a way it's fine though because they're already so busy with the tour and the main Lollapalooza was such a success for them, so they should take it easy for now. There's always next year.

It's been some time and I'm still obsessed with this song and how it's performed on tour :WAP:

apparently they've opted out of lolla and are going with a solo tour stop instead which i'm kinda into tbh

Oh that's fantastic if true. Hopefully it's not only Brazil since they've already been there with the last tour. Argentina and Chile need to be added too.

It's so confusing how anyone can call this song outright bad. This production is exquisite and the composition is pretty sleek and cool with the added harmonies and adlibs.

You mean *gg stans*

There's a reason why the average gg has less longevity compared to the average bg

That's an overstatement in every phrases. But okay.

LIZ :jonny6: truly a voice of an angel. Also SOLAR is such a powerhouse vocalist :WAP:

But LIZ omg, she's breathtaking everytime she sings. But lemme not praise her too much otherwise that one user here (musicfan86?) will start having a meltdown again :dies:

I feel bad for them, the song isn't bad but I don't see them going anywhere with it.
