If you know how kpop companies and kpop producers work, you will know that a single demo song could be recorded by multiple groups before eventually deciding to give to which group. Those songs are NOT 2NE1 songs until they're released. They belong to Teddy the producer and it couldnt help that Teddy produces for both groups.

 

For example, both SNSD and F(x) recorded Hot Summer and eventually SM gave it to f(x) as they're more suitable. Kokobop was written for RV but eventually went to EXO. View was meant for f(x) and 4walls was for SHINEE but eventually switched.

 

I love 2ne1 but this narrative gotta stop. YG mistreated them but those songs are not 2NE1 songs (and they're not written by 2ne1 also)

I understand the contempt from BlackJacks for BP solely because YG clearly remade the group (CL = Jennie, Bom = Rose, Minzy = Lisa and Jisoo = Dara/Seohyun from SNSD) and promoted them as "2NE1 meets SNSD." It was a total stab in the back to the "love yourself" theme of ugly-dols like 2NE1 while replacing them with more "perfect," traditionally beautiful girls. And to dig into 2NE1's scraps while throwing 2NE1 aside was a massive insult.

 

I agree with everything you said. I just find BJs' criticism to be valid, too.

And here's the issue with Aespa on filtered/unfiltered streams. It has to do with the ISRC function being entered wrong on Spotify's end:

Teddy is a serial plagiarist and credit thief. There are physical Big Bang minis from before GD's reputation as a songwriter-producer took off that incorrectly printed Teddy in the credits where he didn't belong, and isn't credited on any streaming service today(their 3rd mini is the worst offender). Those actually aren't his songs and CL was more involved with 2NE1 than she's credited.We literally have hours and hours of their process documented thanks to 2NE1 tv. CL got writing credit on EVERY project she has ever done that wasn't directly under Teddy's supervision(dating back to 2009) and was even teasing the BP songs on ig in 2015/16 but somehow, only has credit on less than a handful of 2NE1 songs, and none of YG/TBLs attempts to recapture that sound without her have hit the same vibe, but both of CLs albums have her lyrics and melodies down without a single Teddy credit in sight. There is literally an uncredited vocal sample of CL on As If It's Your Last that everybody and their dog was able to clock the day it came out, before any stems or demos leaked, or before the ex-YG employees and Park Bom both said it was originally for 2NE1. CL was robbed of years of her life and her fans have a right to be pressed.

 

I like some of the BP songs released after the 2NE13 scraps ran out(I think Lovesick Girls is actually a contender for their best song), but you can't deny that their ratatata boom boom rah rah girl crush songs were a lot less stale and phoned in sounding back when CL had her hands on them first, or that their more pop-leaning, less noisy singles completely vanished at that point other than an Ariana Grande scrap. That's not a coincidence.

people love the Teddy excuses, but then answer why other than Black Pink, who benefitted from multiple scrapped albums of material and inherited an entire a&r and management and creative team from one of them(and to be fair, have some star power in their own right that shined much brighter without Teddy forcing 2NE1's sound onto them with their solos), EVERY idol group Teddy Park executive produced was a cheapened version of G-Dragon or CL's work that was less successful overall? Or why "his" sound was totally different before G-Dragon? Why does even Psy credit G-Dragon, the uncredited "advisor" on Gangnam Style with boosting his foreign success more often in interviews than Teddy, the alleged producer of his breakout hit, even now, years after both artists left YG? Teddy Park is a hack. Always has been. There's a reason his first truly big project at TBL is a song he had nothing to do with. Every other "success" to come out of that company was an already famous idol who actually declined under his management/production.

2NE1's entire career post IATB has been a mess. The fact that they only had SCREAM as a Japanese track while BIGBANG had original albums alone is

 

Add Bom's management during the """""""""scandal"""""""", CL's career, shelved English album, shelved Korean album, and the list goes on.

 

YG had a gold mine in his hand, the true potential first K-Pop girl group to make it worldwide and he ruined everything for literally no reason if you're talking business.
