I meant strategize how the album as-is could've been rolled out better, don't just answer with "re-record the entire album without Dr. Luke" since that's obvious to everyone.

I would get Kygo to re-produce Wonder and push as the lead single. He experienced moderate success with "Whatever" earlier this year, there should be fans of that song who will enjoy a Kygo x Katy track. This way she could have escaped the Dr. Luke bad buzz as well.

 

Push the album release to August instead of waiting until September. She could use the VMA / NFL slot to promote the 3rd single instead

• lead single - June : Wonder (re-produced / remixed by Kygo)
• 2nd single - to coincide w album release in August : All The Love
• 3rd single - VMA promo : I'm His He's Mine
• 4th single - club track : Lifetimes

 

The era starts X years before promotion or a lead drops, with Katy meeting with a producer at a studio, not named Dr. Luke. 

 

So she "is learning and growing from this" and still releases a whole full album executively produced by Dr. Puke?!

It looks like most of us agree that IHHM, All The Love and Lifetimes are the only somewhat single worthy songs on the album so I guess she could try releasing those in some order but there's no way even those 3 would have resulted in a successful album. There's no way to save this without removing Luke and his stale productions. 

Having Dr. Luke produce the album is problematic enough, but on top of that Woman's World isn't even good.

 

I'd go for I'm His He's Mine as the lead, since that one is at least a great song. Then go with Lifetimes + album release + tour announcement 6 weeks later.

Leave out Dr Luke

Still flop

Scrap it.

There was no way to fix this and it's sad because everything that is not the music was so on point. Performances, visuals, everything... but the music.

idk if there is any point really. you could replace woman's world with another track and it would've charted a bit higher, but probably still not within the top 40. even if you could somehow set aside the dr luke controversy, i don't think the quality of the album is anywhere near what it should've been to capitalise on the earlier hype and goodwill for her comeback.

IHHH as droplet a month after 'katy perry is coming' thread with snippet on time, promo and announce lifetime as b-side two monthes after that. then greatest hit lifetime tour announcement with lineup performances as played. 143 never exists

Agreed! But the question at hand is "you're stuck with the completed 143 album as-is, it's too late to start over... how would you promote it?"
