Was Blinding Lights inspired by Roulette??

Featured Replies

Both songs have similar lyrics about goin out and CITY Lights. Nocturnal Dark Feeling.  :giraffe:
Both are themed around Las Vegas-Casino themes :gaygacat7:

Roulette is a Synthpop-Synthwave song. Blinding Lights is a Synthpop-Synthwave song too

Max Martin produced Roulette in 2017 and then he produced Blinding Lights in 2019-2020

I honestly feel like MAX Martin Recycled the concept of this song for The Weekend years later with a new musical twist
Was Witness too ahead of her time?

I also feel the same about DUA Lipa. She's treated like the Queen of Disco :emofish: and The Weekend the King of Synthpop and the Pivotal artists of this DECADE

But Madonna served Disco Revival months before Dua Lipa.

Madonna and Katy the Real Pioneers of the 2020s sound.
Justice for these innovators. Their ideas were stolen hy24oNW.gif

No. Dancing With Our Hands Tied was most likely an inspiration, as it features the same production team: Max Martin & Oscar Holter, the latter one's missing from Katy's song :cm:

judging by your description both songs are inspired by Poker Face :toofunny2:

Nocturnal and Sexy and kinda 80s.  Maybe we can trace that 2020s sound to the Fame :gaycat2:
Woah Gaga the pioneer?

wait are swifties being fr right now?

in WHAT world was blinding lights inspired by a mid reputa album track????????? this is next level delusion

:suburban:

Were Roxy Music a big influence?
[Roxy Music's 1982 hit] "More Than This" is a banger, dude! The reason I keep using it as a reference on this album is because you press play and you know it's a hit almost immediately — you don't have to wait to get the chorus to know it's a great song, and I wanted to get that with a song like "In Your Eyes." The demo didn't have that ['80s sax hook] beginning, so I was listening to things like Roxy and A-Ha, "How do we make it sound amazing right away?" "Blinding Lights" and "In Your Eyes" didn't [originally] have those melodies in the first verse.

Yes. Blinding Lights and Cry About It Later had the same coproducer as well

I do but I can't post them on YouTube due to copyright issues. I didn't make a Grimes AI Model or have one but I might try that one.
