Is Taylor's downfall imminent?

Featured Replies

I feel like the general public is slowly turning on her after her recent antics: The 4th album in a row (of the same theme), the 43 variants, her friendship and relationship dramas, CO2 emissions, her quiet stance on politics (again), etc.

A strong fan base can only carry you so much e.g.: Gaga and Stupid Love.

What do we think? Is her downfall imminent?

Aren't you all tired of ordering her downfall and it never coming?

  • Every time someone makes a thread in this vein, her downfall is delayed by a year

  • Yes. She will step on a banana peel and subsequently trip & fall down imminently.

En-masse? No.

She's definitely becoming more polarising (again) though. Her fans and haters are both becoming increasingly louder.

Spoiler

She will then break up with the banana peel, sell 5 million albums about it, and go on another record breaking tour seemingly just for funsies

Nothing there she hasn't already gone through 20 times before in her career.

No. She will at least have success well into her late 40s.

By the time she turns 48 and releases an out of touch record that doenst resonate with younger fans (like Madge had with MDNA) then we're talking

She certainly has way more die hard fans then Gaga, so in that aspect she will be fine. But everyone has a downfall. It happened to MJ, Madonna and others, it will happen to her too at one point.

Yes, she's been on a steady decline since 2017. She will soon fall off in the year 2040.

Also, you're clearly not listening if you think her last 4 albums are about the same theme

Sadly after Folklore (which is great) every next album is ways worse that the one before. TTPD has 0 hits out of the bubble and it seems only her name is selling it. Not the music. Which is a great sign if she continues this way more and more people would be annoyed.

After being presented with these facts it seems like the answer is yes.

If ATRL says yes, then the only correct answer must be no.

even tho i didn't like ttpd (i think its her worst effort to date) but nobody cares about the 43 variants except the stans, CO2 emissions gonna be the downfall of humanity not only ms. swift

so no i think she will be fine for the next 5 albums cycle (excl. TV versions).

It doesn't really matter, she's a certified Cockroach of Pop™, like my other faves, Brit and Gár - downfalls are part of their history and brand:clap3:

She has a huge fanbase of teen girls. They will keep buying everything she puts out for years to come

Although people say a downfall happens to everyone, I don't think it will ever happen to Taylor.

Her core fan base is much too strong. I doubt she will ever debut with less than 300K even in her 60s

Taylor doesn't tend to take too many artistic risks, so I don't know that we're going to see her get backlash. That seems unlikely. I think it's more likely that people could simply tire of her omnipresence.

TTPD was cute but I hope her next album is more considered and concise.
