Imagine not listening to MPG's pop records just because of stupid fan war. You're the anomaly it seems.

I'm tired of the hate train against Katy. Why do people keep picking on her? It's so unfair....... Even though her so-called friends drove her into becoming a rape victim and gossiped about her b

'Gorgeous' sounds as though they mixed 'Unholy' with 'Dark Horse' and got this reductive result. It's so 2016 in the worst way possible. Kim Petras provided NOTHING. The only cute part is the beginning where they both say KP. I can do w/o everything else.

Well yes and at least I gave it a chance (3 of them) and reviewed honestly. The GP won't even bother to listen.

Also I don't stan ANYONE at all so :khalyan2:

It's not because a stupid fan war, it's because I don't like the music

who would be able to listen her last album after stupid love as lead single lol

wonder is the only love of this :rip:

Listening to the album in NZ right now and every song is going in one ear and out the other. Zero memorability. This is not good :toofunny3:

May be this has something to do with the fact that you don't like Gaga.

Except Taylor, no one releases frequently so I find it quite normal if people listen to MPG albums. Not everyone will listen to every album though.

If u don't listen to anyone else other than Katy, then it's a different conversation. But if u do listen to at least few new releases, you are normal and so is others listening to this album.

Many are over hating the album for sure, but they definitely underdelivered. It is a dance pop album so I really do not care about lyrics. We go to other artists for that. So a lot of it I will probably stream just because I am a sucker for basic dance pop, but that is also a big part of its problem objectively. Missing bridges, a lot of songs stay flat throughout, once you heard the first 30 seconds you heard the whole songs, etc. With like the most minimal amounts of effort this entire album could have been elevated so much. For me this is definitely better than Smile and Witness, but Katy, Dr. Luke, Capital... you were lazy let's be honest. I would give it like a 6/10. Critics are going to eviscerate this

The lyrics are vapid and devoid of any real substance or meaning, reading like the stream-of-consciousness ramblings of a sleep-deprived teenager rather than the work of an established, successful artist. Sonically, the album is a chaotic mess, with Dr Rape seemingly throwing every imaginable sound and sample into the mix without any cohesion or direction. It's as if Katy and her team made a conscious effort to create the most unlistenable, unpalatable collection of songs possible. Unsurprisingly, the album has been a commercial flop, failing to connect with either Katy's existing fanbase or new listeners. In the pantheon of all-time terrible albums, Katy's latest offering stands tall as a towering monument to creative bankruptcy and musical ineptitude, a low point that may be impossible for the pop star to recover from.

Katheryn sweetie... I just finished the album. Disappointing is an UNDERSTATEMENT. :deadbanana4:

Going back in because I will always have a nostalgic soft spot for Katy... but the complete lack of bridges, ad-libs, provoking lyrics, and vocal character are extremely detrimental to these songs.

crush and nirvana the only enjoyable songs on this album

And lifetimes

I like Crush, Artificial...

...and Woman's World. :emofish:

Not kats acting like music can't be played in background or 30 minutes of album is hard to get through (in this case, it might be)

Believe me, nobody is sitting through this 30 minutes of borefest without doing something else alongside.

I disagree

ok so i am trying to be very positive about this since i used to stan Katy.

I don't think I'm gonna use any of the first half. All the Love is really good though. It's not really that creative as far as the production goes but I think it works.

I only listened to new songs - took me 15 min and additional 7 min to replay songs I liked

I doubt you ever need an excuse to jerk off to anime!

Artificial's production is really captivating. What genre is that?

Bad.

My review:

Woman's World: 2/10, uninspired lyrics, downright insulting to modern day women's empowerment. Production is bland and vocal delivery is soulless in a supposed powerful song, she sounds bored halfway through.

Gimme Gimme: 3/10, it sounds catchy but the structure is weird and didn't go anywhere, you kinda flow in the mid air with no high and no low. Again boring lyrics but since it's a sexy song I can give it a pass but the vibes are just weird with the feature. Her monotone should be a selling point here but it's again so emotionless that you don't even feel that seductive sound.

Gorgeous: 1/10 so much vocal effect but the production is surprisingly simple and not in a flattering way. Same vocal delivery like the last song, same feeling. Kim even does more interesting things with her voice than Katy here.

IMHM: 4/10 Boring use of an iconic sample, again boring production, at least the vocal is more enjoyable here. Lyrics are cringe as usual.

Crush: 3/10 budget Catch My Breath with Eurovision production?? Who ask for this? At least serve some powerful vocal but no. It's only catchy because of sample but the bland production ruins it. If you like this just listen to the superior version.

Lifetimes: 3/10 almost the same problems already half way through.

All The Love: 4/10 it was going somewhere then her voice getting processed way too much when it would be much better to let the vocal power comes through raw. And then the end drags it but with no bridge or outro at all? Boring production as usual. Cute harmonies.

Nirvana: 2/10 chrous is not bad, highlight even, but the verse and drop are just... Not it. Weird autotune choices, not a fan at all.

Artificial: 1/10 No OMG NO. The way Katy can have a catchy chorus to work with but the surrounding stuffs are just so bad.

Truth: 2/10 Autotune choices were made. Chrous is bad, one of the rare one in the album. Usual culprit here.

Wonder: 4/10 Cute song, could be much better, the production isn't giving, especially the transitions. Lyrics are too bland to be inspiring, why Katy can't even write some deep thoughted out lyrics with a song for her daughter?

Overall: 2/10

not " crush " sounding - during every post chorus - like the "lovebomber baby "song  by that random girl  from social media :deadbanana2:
