Midnights because it has an actual hit that also resonated with the GP.   TTPD seems big within the Swiftie bubble. But the GP said NO. The album is just...there, being streamed 24/7 by Swif

Some of these posts are quite funny considering two years ago it was "Midnights is only popular on swiftie bubbles" and "AH is not an actual hit"

Streaming: TTPD

Album sales: TTPD

Debut: TTPD

Longevity: We'll see

Hit singles: Midnights

Videos: Midnights

Virality and discussion: TTPD

Fan favourite: TTPD
Acclaim: Midnights, God knows why
Grammys: We'll see

If Taylor pushed her magnum opus GAS? as the lead for TTPD, it would be beating Thriller's sales by now :jonny5:

But as usual she self sabotages and picks the worst singles

Midnights. Anti-Hero is one of Taylor's biggest hits.

The GP Doesn't know/care about Fortnight.

TTPD is set to spend a 7th week at #1 with 110K of its units coming from streaming ALONE... It's definitely the bigger era (and the streaming performance of Fornight is on par with Anti-Hero's, the latter was just bigger on radio)

ATRL swore that the album would be frontloaded and abandoned by the public, yet here it is being her most well-received & stable album ever, after only '1989'. It's funny how the real world almost never overlaps with ATRLers views on things.

Obviously Midnights, even though the singles had shockingly little longevity for such an imperial era (besides Anti-Hero). People were more interested in her song from 5 years ago than anything else Midnights had to offer

This is silly, CS is an anomaly and everyone knows how hard it is to bag massive hits post-album now, especially since she doesn't do prerelease singles.

Karma's performance as a post-release was very strong.

OT: This is a bit of a pointless question 7 weeks into the run of TTPD. The early numbers certainly speak for themselves, but Anti-Hero will probably be a bigger hit than anything off poets. If she actually promotes Down Bad and ICDIWABH she can bag some cute hits in addition to Fortnight.

Also too many people are discrediting how quickly she just gobbled up 4 million units. Her success breaks ATRL brains haha

  • 2 weeks later...

TTPD is outperforming Midnights in both sales and streams week by week, there isn't much to argue about. However it all depends on long term longevity. Make the question in 2 years or so.
