Perrie - "Tears"

they can't be serious with releasing this in TWO WEEKS!?

Why did both Leigh-Anne and Perrie's teams fumbled so hard after the debut singles? At least Leigh-Anne had the music video and the physicals ready (although My Love still made zero noise...) but wtf is Perrie's team doing with Tears??? I have a feeling the album is not coming this year...

  • Hopefully this is better than Forget About Us. I tried to force myself to like that song but haven't listened since release week...

  • I need to understand the thought process behind this

It's good that the radio seems to like Perrie but if her team believes that they can rely on that, they're wrong. They need to invest into Spotify playlists and get Perrie to do more performances or interviews. They need to keep her name relevant.

I find it funny the disconnect between radio and streaming. You would think songs that get the most airplay woould also get sizeable streams... the song is mid... she needs bigger, better and bolder songs to leave a lasting mark on the gp's minds.

Video out tomorrow.

Good but at this point, it'll do nothing...Anyway, I am still curious about the visuals.

did leigh-anne and perrie (and their teams) think they were above working hard to promote their music? it's perplexing how they're basically just releasing music with close to zero promo and then try to guilt trip their fans into streaming if they want more music. girl, go out and earn those ******* streams.

i really hope jade goes big with her debut cause girl what is this...

An Insider on Popjustice:

Heard 6 new Perrie songs tonight, and honestly they're all so bad.

The songs simply aren't strong enough.

There's nothing to be excited about.

Yeah I wasn't too thrilled with that snippet either

This is giving me 'Holiday' music video flashbacks :deadbanana2:

PLEASE BE GOOD. PLEASE BE GOOD. PLEASE BE GOOD.

This looks truly ATROCIOUS, my god. Her complete and total lack of any taste whatsoever needs to be studied. I have literally never seen such a gigantic chasm between taste levels and talent in a pop star like… ever.

Nnnnnn not too late to scrap this

I think I've heard this song twice, it was such a let down. I'm hoping she drops some more bops in the future. I adore her x

As suspected, video was absolutely abysmal. Looks like a GCSE art project. This entire release is a bit embarrassing, really.

I love Perrie but this was absolutely dreadful.

It was giving 'Holiday' music video with the extremely cheap looking green screen. You can literally see the outlines of who has been green screened in and out?!

I love that she tried to do something different but this was not good :(

Perrie is on instagram live saying she didn't want to give 'Crusty' visuals like she may have done in the past :deadbanana2:

She's laughing at people thinking she's talking about Holiday, when this video is the 2.0 editing wise.

Perrie says there are teasers in the video about the album.

This song was already a chop. At least she put the same amount of effort she did into recording vocals over a shopped Selena demo as she did into this abysmal video. She's very vocally talented, but she has no taste in music. Hang it up flatscreen, This Morning are always looking for new presenters.

I can't help but think about how *easy* it would have been for her to lean in to the Adele route and release a well-produced power ballad as her debut and re-introduce herself to the public by putting her greatest asset, her voice, at the centre of her music. She would have garnered INSTANT acclaim.

Instead she decided to do…. whatever this is. What's even more baffling is her decision to release these cookie cutter, generic as ****, Selena Gomez reject AI-generated pop songs when she herself has said all she ever wanted to do in Little Mix was stand on stage with a mic and belt out a ballad or two.

She has completely fumbled her bag and if she wants to continue releasing music she DESPERATELY needs to rebrand and go down the power ballad route.
