IBeMe Posted May 3 Share Posted May 3 (edited) First listen done: - End of an Era is so beautiful - These Walls is great too but im not crazy for it like some of yall I guess. - Watcha Doing is soooo good...this should have been the lead single or something imo...Its a statement song imo It would have been such a powerful lead and shift tbh....its also a little meatier than Houdini. Houdini is great but i feel like it would have been even more appreciated as a second single rather than lead - French Exit sounds like an old school Rih album track tbh but with a more modern oomph to it. Also kinda gives me Rina Sawayama vibes in a way. idk how to explain it. - Falling Forever is fantastic but it isnt single worthy yall. The song is solid AF but singles aren't just based on quality usually...it wont work on radio. That said, Id love for it to get some performances and stuff - Anything for Love cute track - Maria is cute af...reminds me of a Xenomania type of track....actually a lot of the album is very Xenomania tinged. - Happy for You is an EXCELLENT album closer Final thought: Great album overall! I dont think anything on here will be a proper hit but I dont care tbh. She served a really cute and compact record. She does need to work on DL4 a little quicker than she prob anticipated tho. Nothing on here can sustain or excuse another 4 year gap between albums tbh. Even with a re release probably. So lets all enjoy this record, have her tour it and then hopefully release DL4 by 2026 the latest. This album will be enjoyed even more in hindsight probably too Biggest compaint: The lyrics are vapid and faceless throughout the record. It's not on the same tier as FN, but there isn't an eyesore song that stands out for the wrong reasons like GIB and BWBB. I like Maria and Whatcha Doing the most.
