I've been obsessed with this bop  Might even top Cardboard Box for me. They better promote this hard because this has potential to be their breakthrough hit imo. I hope tik tok jumps on this

Right!

 

Everyone is (rightfully) hyped about the song, but there's still no tangible take on how it's doing. 

 

Given that it didn't drop with the video, I would hope that their team are taking a slow and steady approach and don't have unrealistic expectations

. 

They have an odd predicament where there's all this online support and people do go to their shows, but the charting trajectory of the music does not reflect at all. Probably an awareness issue with the GP (as stans alone will never be enough to push a song).

I stand by my point about the song's racy subject matter possibly being an issue. 

 

It's a bop for sure, but when thinking about BIG UK TV promo platforms, I don't know if I can see them being booked to sing about how good their man f's them on Ant & Dec, Graham Norton, etc. All post-watershed shows, but all of which still command somewhat of a "family" audience.

In one regard, it's why artists and their teams really ought to read the room that is the market they are in and the platforms available to them there when making single decisions. 

 

On the other hand, it's 2024 and televised promo doesn't always move the needle. Especially got a gen-z group like Flo. So, I just hope they've allocated a budget for TikTok payola, heavy radio play, and other savvy ways to push the track.

I fear they waited too long and lost all hype, however i can see this becoming a tik tok hit

Feeling perfectly whelmed by this. I loved their first EP and MNEK’s solo work, but I think they’re kind of treading here and it feels a little too similar to Fly Girl.

It’s still a good song, though, just hoping for better on the album. I feel like the lyrical limitations of this team is holding them back a tad and they’d be more on the pulse with more cooks in the kitchen, but I guess we’ll see and I’m rooting for them

Iono about that video. 

 

They have a lot of natural charisma, but I'm torn on the lack of budget. 

 

On the one hand, it's pretty glaring. Especially coming off the Fly Girl video. Even their other videos felt a bit more...polished. 

 

Three random female dancers? No actual guys who make them "walk like this"? The choreo also feels on the edge of corny. Not corny, but...almost.

 

At the same time, I'd much rather they save their budget, spread it out across the era at large, and work their way back to the slick polish of the Fly Girl vid. In a way, they are being smart to not fake flashy until their success legitimately reflects it.

 

Not to even be negative, but I'm interested in the label's approach with this and with them. The song has yet to break the Apple or Spotify 200 charts in the UK. In fairness to them, they're kinda starting from scratch, so I hope the expectation isn't that they miraculouslt slay out of the gate. Even then, though, not charting at all is kind of a cause for concern.

 

We'll see.
